Tom Brady defied time and played through it, but for now it is about this moment. [View in browser]( [FOX SPORTS INSIDER WITH MARTIN ROGERS] In today’s FOX Sports Insider with Martin Rogers: Tom Brady's career has been full of moments and this one is the last one to add to a remarkable journey … The Broncos have their coach, but Sean Payton's biggest challenge is helping Russell Wilson … and more! The retirement announcement wasn't a true surprise — how can it be, when it involves a 45-year-old football player — but boy, it was something. Tom Brady walked away from football early on Wednesday morning, with a simple video post, on his phone, on a beach, fighting back emotion, and none of us should expect a reversal, not this time. So, um, what now? This isn't really a time to reflect on his litany of achievements, because that all happened last year, when he quit football, then realized he needed it and took one final shot at boosting his impossible legacy even further. Perhaps, for a guy who came to epitomize time, both by defying it and by playing through so much of it, this should be about the moment, the right now and what comes from here. It can be about the reality that there will be another NFL season beginning in seven months, and Brady won't be a part of it, and that hasn't been true at any point since the turn of the millennium. There are some things you can tell from a video message and other things you can't, but unless Brady has suddenly morphed into a world-class actor, this was real and raw and he felt every bit of it. Did he get this on the first take? Who knows, but he sure looked like he was struggling to hold back the tears and that it was a battle he'd have lost if he'd kept talking much longer. [BET OF THE DAY] Odds provided by [FOX Bet]( Philadelphia Eagles vs Kansas City Chiefs: Eagles (-1.5) to win by more than 1.5 points From FOX Sports Betting Analyst: Jason McIntyre Just how good is this Eagles defense? We don’t really know. How can you tell when they haven’t faced a top-10 QB in two months, that is assuming you think Aaron Rodgers played at a top-10 level this season. Dak Prescott threw for 347 yards against the Eagles at home, and that might have been the best QB Philly has faced this season (honorable mention: Kirk Cousins, Jared Goff). The blowout of a 49ers team on a fourth-string QB – who then got concussed (Josh Johnson) – and Purdy, who was unable to throw the ball beyond five yards of the line of scrimmage in the second half, didn’t really tell us anything. Can we expect Kansas City’s defense to play as well as it did against Cincinnati, which was down three offensive linemen? Chris Jones and Frank Clark will have it much tougher against the best OL in the NFL. Jalen Hurts didn’t play well against the 49ers (121 yards passing, 4.8 yards per attempt), and who knows if he’s going to be 100 percent. Same with Mahomes and his receivers. This is a tough game to call, but ultimately, the Eagles have the superior OL and DL. Take Philly to fly. For the latest betting odds, [click here](.
