The new typeface, Ainslie, with its mix of influences from Oz, makes its mark as the first semi-serif from insigne Design. Ainslie, named for Mt. Ellis Tolsma is a 24-year-old illustrator from Hilversum, The Netherlands. She likes playing around with bold shapes, often matching colors that shouldn’t match together and is inspired by vintage objects, books and toys. She often works with a lot of color and incorporates a bit of a retro feel into her work. An important part of her creative process is to keep trying out new things and to never stop experimenting.
