It's a much debated subject. In the last 3 emails, we busted some myths about pairing and promoted developing your own approach. For those of you who like to have a set of rules on hand, here are some key guidelines suggested by Jamie Neely (Monotype Director of Product Design) that can help make the choice less daunting: - You may want to approach pairing like a color wheel, and choose typefaces from within the same color range. For example: A slab heading with a serif body can bring some harmony, and speak to complimentary pairing without veering too far from the style of the font. - The alternative is finding contrasting pairs—from opposite sides of the color wheel—which creates visual variation and highlights the unique qualities of each typeface. This requires working with a lead typeface that dictates and amplifies the voice, and then a 'practical partner'. This typeface is characterized by a lot of details, which gives it a strong character. Unpredictable cuts in the letters “a” and “s”, or a double “g” in combination with a delicate contrast, makes Alergia Grotesk a good choice for many purposes from headlines to short flowing texts. It has a big range of width varieties to provide a versatile use. 60 fonts for $350 $122.50 [Shop Here]( Sale ends tonight, June 23rd at 11:59pm EDT – Don’t Miss out! View [all fonts on sale]( here! Flesch reading score

Flesch reading score measures how complex a text is. The lower the score, the more difficult the text is to read. The Flesch readability score uses the average length of your sentences (measured by the number of words) and the average number of syllables per word in an equation to calculate the reading ease. Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables. Usually, a reading ease score of 60-70 is considered acceptable/normal for web copy.
