URGENT ACTION NEEDED: Tell the EPA NOT to approve toxic neonic pesticides for another 15 years! Bee

URGENT ACTION NEEDED: Tell the EPA NOT to approve toxic neonic pesticides for another 15 years! [Take action now >>]( Bee populations are dying out rapidly, and something MUST be done immediately to save our precious pollinators. Over the last two decades alone, we’ve lost 87% of the Rusty-Patched Bumblebee, 89% of the American Bumblebee, and 93% of the Western Bumblebee. There’s no doubt about it — if bees go EXTINCT, our world and way of life would be drastically different. Bees and other pollinators are responsible for 1 in every 3 bites of food that we eat, and without them, we could lose 75% of the most nutritious foods we rely on. Scientists are pointing to neonics as a leading cause of the decline in bee populations. These toxic insecticides are the most widely used in the world, and they are extremely deadly to bees. Neonics kill bees by attacking their nervous systems, which can harm their ability to navigate, forage, fight off disease, and even reproduce! We need to act quickly if we’re going to SAVE BEES from being wiped out by toxic neonics so that these essential pollinators can continue to support our food supply, our ecosystems, and our planet. [Will you sign our petition urging the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to put pollinators, people, and the planet above the pesticide industry’s profits? Add your name to tell the EPA to BAN bee-killing neonics NOW! >>]( [SIGN THE PETITION]( Friend, we aren’t being dramatic when we talk about the significant losses our food supply would suffer if bees were to go extinct. Almonds would literally NOT EXIST if it weren’t for bees! And without bees, many other crops we love — like certain fruits, veggies, and coffee — would all be in shorter supply, making them harder to obtain and more expensive. For those already trying to make ends meet, this change could be devastating. To make matters even worse, studies have linked human health risks to neonics — including heart and brain malformations, memory loss, tremors, and hormone disruption! Despite strategic efforts by pesticide industry giants like Bayer-Monsanto to downplay the dangers of neonics, the science is out. The EU has already banned the worst neonics, but here in the states, the EPA has yet to take action. In fact, the agency might actually APPROVE these harmful pesticides for another 15 years! We cannot let people, pollinators, and the planet suffer for fifteen more years from widespread use of toxic neonics. Unless we speak up NOW, there could be no turning back and fixing the irreparable damage to our environment. We’re urgently calling on 4,006 more activists like you to speak up by the deadline at 11:59 P.M. TONIGHT: [Can we count on you to take action today and DEMAND that the EPA bans toxic neonics immediately? Sign now before it’s too late! >>]( [SIGN THE PETITION]( Thanks for protecting pollinators, people, and the planet, Friends of the Earth Contact Us: Friends of the Earth U.S. Washington, D.C. | Berkeley, CA 1-877-843-8687 [Contact us](foe.org/about-us/contact/) Email Preferences: [Click here to unsubscribe]( Learn more: www.foe.org/news www.foe.org/about-us www.foeaction.org Connect: [Facebook]( [Twitter]( [Flickr]( © 2021, Friends of the Earth.
