URGENT ACTION NEEDED: A class of toxic pesticides is putting more than 200 endangered species at risk and threatening our food system. [Take action now.]( Neonicotinoid pesticides are among the most widely used pesticides in agriculture. But these toxic chemicals have made U.S. agriculture nearly 48 TIMES MORE TOXIC to insects in the past three decades. The EPA estimates that the most common neonics jeopardize the continued existence of about 11% of the entire endangered species list, including pollinators that are important to our food system. Neonics are putting vulnerable wild bee populations, such as the rusty patch bumble bee, at risk of being wiped out. And the EPA could soon approve these pesticides for another 15 years! [Please, Friend it’s not too late to STOP the EPA from approving bee-toxic pesticides. Will you take action now for our precious pollinators while there’s still time left?]( [SIGN THE PETITION]( Neonics don’t hurt just bees, Friend. These pesticides are found on many of the foods that you eat and CANNOT BE WASHED OFF. Neonics have been linked to birth defects of the heart and brain, hormone disruption, and autism. Children are the most vulnerable to exposure! States such as New York and New Jersey have restricted neonics -- and yet the federal government may still decide to permit the continued widespread use of these toxic pesticides across the country, putting corporate interests above pollinators and our health. [Please take less than 60 seconds to help us SAVE pollinators, PROTECT our health, and our ecosystems by signing your name immediately!]( [SIGN THE PETITION]( Thank you, Friends of the Earth Contact Us: Friends of the Earth U.S. Washington, D.C. | Berkeley, CA 1-877-843-8687 [Contact us](foe.org/about-us/contact/) Email Preferences: [Click here to unsubscribe]( Learn more: www.foe.org/news www.foe.org/about-us www.foeaction.org Connect: [Facebook]( [Twitter]( [Flickr]( © 2021, Friends of the Earth.
