URGENT ACTION NEEDED: Gray wolves are being brutally slaughtered by trophy hunters, and we must protect this valuable species from being violently wiped out. [Take action now! >>]( In the dead of winter, a lone wolf pup cries out into the wilderness… But the creature’s desperate yelps are futile. The pup’s mother has just been VICIOUSLY MURDERED by savage trophy hunters, leaving behind a trail of bloody snow and scattered fur across the forest floor. Now, the orphaned pup has little hope for survival: Too young to hunt or forage for food, the precious baby will likely starve to death — that is, if the bitter cold doesn’t kill first by hypothermia. Helpless wolf puppies across the country are suffering tragic fates just like this one. Orphaned pups left to die without their mama. Entire wolf packs annihilated by cruel trophy hunters who are determined to MASSACRE this precious animal.  Unless we demand critical Endangered Species Act (ESA) protections for these beloved canines, they could soon go EXTINCT at the hands of ruthless hunters. We simply cannot look the other way when these poor creatures are depending on us to be their voice and help save them. [Please, Friend, will you speak up for innocent gray wolves and wolf pups today?]( [Sign the petition]( Wolves are not just the iconic four-legged ancestors of the common domesticated dog that are part of many families. They are also a symbol of North American wilderness, representing nature at its most authentic through their instinct to survive. But even these fierce and loyal animals can’t protect themselves or their pack members from merciless trophy hunters. After all, how can an innocent wolf compete with piercing bullets from high-tech guns, or leg hold traps made of indestructible steel, or high-speed helicopters and snowmobiles that chase these desperate animals down and run them over? In the fight for survival, trophy hunters have the advantage — and gray wolves are quickly losing battle after battle. Meanwhile, extremists and greedy corporations are making the odds even worse for these treasured animals. Lawmakers with special interests are teaming up with the hunting lobby and Big Polluters to undermine conservation efforts and ESA protections for gray wolves.  We cannot let these anti-wolf legislators succeed in reversing life-saving ESA defense for gray wolves, but these are extremely powerful forces to stand up against. That’s why we’re calling on 3,971 more activists like you to help us build a strong grassroots coalition by 11:59 P.M. TONIGHT. [Can we count on you to take action today by adding your name RIGHT NOW before it’s too late to save the last remaining gray wolves?]( [Sign the petition]( Thanks for being a voice for defenseless animals, Friends of the Earth Contact Us: Friends of the Earth U.S. Washington, D.C. | Berkeley, CA 1-877-843-8687 [Contact us](foe.org/about-us/contact/) Email Preferences: [Click here to unsubscribe]( Learn more: www.foe.org/news www.foe.org/about-us www.foeaction.org Connect: [Facebook]( [Twitter]( [Flickr]( © 2021, Friends of the Earth. Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables.
