A series of loud, consecutive bangs. Rapid-fire lead bullets ripping and piercing through the fur and skin of an innocent mama bear who left the den to find food for her babies. She yelps and wails in agony before eventually thumping dead to the ground. The blood puddles around her deceased corpse, covering the forest floor red.  Hiding in the distance, baby cubs are watching and trembling in fear, whimpering helplessly while looking in horror at their mama’s mangled and disfigured carcass. How will these fragile baby bear cubs survive now that mama bear has been brutally shot to death by ruthless trophy hunters? Friend, this gruesome scene could be happening right now while you’re reading this email. Trophy hunters are violently massacring harmless mama bears and leaving their orphaned cubs to die of starvation or hypothermia, often even targeting and killing the harmless cubs themselves. And in some U.S. states, this barbaric trophy hunting of precious grizzly bears is COMPLETELY LEGAL. What’s worse is that extremist politicians, in bed with Big Polluters and the hunting lobby, are actively trying to STRIP AWAY the remaining Endangered Species Act (ESA) protections that these poor animals have left. Without these critical safeguards to protect grizzly bears from callous trophy hunters, this beloved species could soon be WIPED OUT forever. [Helpless bear cubs are counting on you to defend them today, Friend. Won’t you do something while there’s still time left to SAVE grizzly bears from EXTINCTION? Take action now to fight back >>]( [Sign the petition]( Even though grizzly bears are protected within Yellowstone, regulations are being pushed so that the states bordering the park lack the necessary life-saving protections that grizzlies need to defend them against merciless trophy hunters. These innocent animals don’t understand state boundaries, so as soon as they set even a single paw across the line, they could be fair game to be brutally slaughtered. Lawmakers in these states are continuing to push their anti-bear agenda aggressively, attempting to give trophy hunters a license to indiscriminately KILL one of North America’s most treasured mammals. If we’re going to STOP the senseless killing of precious grizzlies and bear cubs, we need the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service (FWS) to step up with bold federal action. It is the agency’s duty to protect vulnerable keystone species like grizzly bears, but FWS hasn’t responded to our demands for action yet, and time is quickly running out to save these defenseless animals from brutal trophy hunters. That’s why we’re upping the public pressure by calling on 3,814 more activists like you to sign our urgent petition by 11:59 P.M. TONIGHT. [Voiceless bear cubs desperately need ALL of us to speak up and fight for them, Friend. Please don’t let them down.
