BREAKING NEWS: Kroger announces new plan to protect pollinators from toxic pesticides! The bees are thanking you, Friend. Over the past few years, Friends of the Earth members like you helped us push Kroger to take action on bee-killing pesticides. Kroger just announced new commitments to protect pollinators and biodiversity by requiring their fresh fruit and vegetable suppliers to adopt farming methods aimed at reducing the use of harmful pesticides. As one of the country’s largest grocery retailers, this is a momentous victory! Kroger joins a growing trend of grocers competing to protect bees and biodiversity thanks to Friends of the Earth and our members’ efforts, including our Bee-Friendly Retailer Scorecard. The addition of a new grocer as large as Kroger could help start a domino effect, pushing other competitors to join the cause. We did it with your help, Friend. But we’re not done yet. We’ve set our sights on another grocery giant – Target. The good news is that this Kroger victory makes convincing competitors easier, but we’ll still need your help to push Target to adopt the same bee-friendly policies! So let yourself celebrate! The bees can rest a little easier tonight. Then tomorrow, let’s get back to work and make Target the next grocery store to step up to help protect the bees!
