Friend, we hate to the bearer of bad news… Recent studies confirmed that the Arctic is melting

Friend, we hate to the bearer of bad news… Recent studies confirmed that the Arctic is melting FOUR times faster than the rest of the planet! This is BEYOND frightening. We cannot help but to think of the vulnerable Arctic wildlife like polar bears who are left watching their ice habitats melt around them while they CLING to survival. To make matters even worse for these beloved animals, Big Oil and Gas are threatening to bring in dirty, toxic pollutants and industrial machinery to the already-fragile Arctic. The drilling and fracking alone is terrible for the environment, releasing harmful greenhouse gas emissions into the atmosphere and ecosystems — but the massive equipment also puts innocent polar bears in danger of being RUN OVER or BURIED ALIVE under snow. The expanded drilling activity is an environmental hazard that impacts the entire landscape, including the sensitive ecosystem that residents depend on for survival, predominantly Indigenous tribes.  [Bottom line: oil drilling and fracking does not belong in the Arctic, Friend. That’s why we’re calling on environmentalists like you to demand an end to the Arctic destruction and degradation. Can we count on you? Please take less than 60 seconds to sign our Arctic Drilling Petition to help save polar bears, people, and the planet >>]( [SIGN THE PETITION]( Could you imagine massive machinery near where you rest? Loud intolerable noise pollution? Not having plenty of safe drinking water or fresh fish to nourish you and your family? The ability to survive and the quality of life is all at stake for Arctic communities due to Big Oil and Gas’ greedy actions. Arctic drilling fundamentally goes against protections listed under National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) — a law that requires federal agencies to assess the environmental effects of any proposed actions, including an evaluation of any related social and economic impacts on nearby residents, like the Indigenous communities in the Arctic. Without stronger protections at the federal level, money-hungry Big Oil companies will continue recklessly drilling and fracking until there’s nothing left. We’ve still got a chance to stop this though, Friend. It’s going to take PEOPLE POWER to stand up against the fossil fuel industry. [Can we count on you to take action and help us urge President Biden to STRENGTHEN protections against Arctic drilling?]( [SIGN THE PETITION]( Together, we can end Arctic drilling once and for all.
