URGENT ACTION NEEDED: Big Ag lobbyists pushing UNHEALTHY milk products on our kids! Just one serving

URGENT ACTION NEEDED: Big Ag lobbyists pushing UNHEALTHY milk products on our kids! [Tell your Senators to STOP this terrible bill now!]( Just one serving of whole milk has about the same amount of saturated fat as a McDonald’s Hamburger Happy Meal! That’s more than 25% of the recommended max amount for kids! The Whole Milk for Healthy Kids Act would push unhealthy, full-fat milk products in school cafeterias. The dairy lobby is pretending the Whole Milk for Healthy Kids Act is about concern for children’s health – but the reality is that this is about their bottom line. [Please, Friend, protect schoolkids from unhealthy school meals based on Big Ag lies!]( [SIGN THE PETITION]( Despite industry claims, whole milk does not improve bone health or lower blood pressure. In fact, it contains huge amounts of saturated fat – far more than kids should be getting just from a drink. The Whole Milk for Healthy Kids Act would RESTRICT access to dairy alternatives too. The bill would maintain that kids with dairy allergies, lactose intolerance, or religious and ethical objections would be required to present doctor’s note vouching for a “disability” just to access non-dairy alternatives. Junk science and misinformation spread by the dairy industry should not inform what our schoolchildren are eating and drinking. This terrible bill has already passed in the House of Representatives, so we MUST stop it in the Senate. [Tell your Senator to OPPOSE the Whole Milk for Healthy Kids Act before it’s too late!]( [SIGN THE PETITION]( Standing with you, Chloë Waterman Climate-friendly food senior program manager, Friends of the Earth Contact Us: Friends of the Earth U.S. Washington, D.C. | Berkeley, CA 1-877-843-8687 [Contact us](foe.org/about-us/contact/) Email Preferences: [Click here to unsubscribe]( Learn more: www.foe.org/news www.foe.org/about-us www.foeaction.org Connect: [Facebook]( [Twitter]( [Flickr]( © 2021, Friends of the Earth.
