URGENT ACTION NEEDED: Big Oil’s drilling machines are running over and killing mama polar bears

URGENT ACTION NEEDED: Big Oil’s drilling machines are running over and killing mama polar bears and cubs in their dens — and even burying them alive under snow! [Take urgent action now! >>]( Friend, the oil and gas industry is destroying the Arctic with out of control drilling and fracking. The region is already warming 2x as fast as the rest of the Earth, and the precious wildlife there is suffering the worst impacts of human-driven climate change. Walruses and polar bears are watching their ice habitat melt away so rapidly that experts believe the entire Arctic region could be ice-free within the next 31 years! And while these animals are clinging to survival, the fossil fuel industry continues to exploit the Arctic for profit. Drilling and fracking are not only terrible for the environment and increasing the rate of global warming, but they're bringing in massive amounts of pollutants to the area and putting vulnerable polar bears at risk of being run over or buried in snow by giant drilling machines. If we’re going to STOP the fossil fuel industry from decimating what’s left of the Arctic and defend the voiceless wildlife — like walruses and polar bears — who call the region home, we need to demand accountability NOW. [Will you take urgent action today by adding your name to our petition calling for an END to increased oil and gas activity in the Arctic?]( [SIGN THE PETITION]( There are currently laws in place that require Big Oil to avoid known polar bear denning sites by at least one mile when drilling in the Arctic. But recent studies have shown MAJOR ERRORS in the accuracy of the technology that’s used to detect these dens — where mama polar bears and cubs often burrow well beneath the snow’s surface. The failure to properly detect denning sites puts innocent polar bears inside their dens at HIGH RISK of being RUN OVER and KILLED by industrial-sized drilling machines — and even being BURIED ALIVE under mounds of snow, CRUSHING these helpless animals to death. We need the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service (FWS) to REJECT increased drilling activity if we’re going to protect the Arctic and all who live there. But the agency isn’t going to act unless we demonstrate strong public support from environmentalists like you, so we’re asking for your urgent help today, Friend. Helpless polar bears desperately need us to speak up for them before they are WIPED OUT by Big Oil’s reckless drilling and fracking. Please help us get 2,823 more signatures by MIDNIGHT to help SAVE endangered polar bears and protect the Arctic from Big Oil’s corporate greed.
