Dear Friend, Read more about how your support makes an impact! [READ MORE]( As a dedicated member of Friends of the Earth, your support has allowed us to fight for the future of our planet and the vulnerable species that inhabit it. Today, I wanted to take a moment to thank you for your contribution to saving our one and only Earth and all the life it supports. [See your impact.]( None of our work would be possible without you. Your donations empower us to hire campaigners, conduct groundbreaking research, and lobby for real, positive change in communities across the country. And your advocacy amplifies countless voices while pressuring companies and politicians to save bees from toxic pesticides, stop dangerous pipelines, and put the planet before profits. See more about your planet-saving impact! [READ MORE]( In 2013, following the alarming collapse in bee populations, we launched our Bee Action campaign to save bees from toxic pesticides like neonics. Neonics are the most widely used class of insecticides in the world, used on more than 140 crops from apples and almonds to rice and soybeans. Neonics are also key culprits in massive pollinator declines. They can kill bees on contact. And they’ve made U.S. agriculture nearly 50 times more toxic to bees and other pollinators in the last few decades. Now, we are seeing many wild bee species spiral toward extinction, like the American bumblebee. Neonics don’t just hurt pollinators. They harm people, too -- including the farmworkers and rural communities on the frontlines of exposure. These chemicals also threaten the soil life -- from earthworms to microbes -- that is the heart of regenerative agriculture. As long as neonic usage continues, we can’t foster healthy soils that sequester more carbon, enhance farmers’ resilience to climate change, and conserve water. That’s why Friends of the Earth is working with the largest grocery retailers to create pollinator protection policies for their supply chains. Thanks to this work and pressure from activists like you, we successfully moved 12 of the largest 25 food retailers in the U.S. -- including Walmart and Costco -- to address the toxic pesticides in their supply chains. Supporters like you have played a vital role in these efforts to make our planet and agriculture more bee-friendly. In this cartoon, you can read in detail about the work you’ve made possible and how your relentless advocacy pressures corporate giants to do the right thing for bees. Find out how your action has made a difference for bees, people, and our food system. [READ MORE]( Fighting to save our planet is hard work. But your support inspires us every day, and we won’t give up until bee-killing pesticides are gone for good. We could not do this work without you. Thank you for showing up with us, persisting after every setback, and celebrating every victory. We are so proud to work with you to make the world a better place for bees.
