Experts link this decline to a devastating loss of seagrass -- manatees’ primary food source. Seagrass is essential to our oceanic ecosystems -- it absorbs almost a fifth of the entire world’s ocean carbon. This is CRUCIAL in defending our planet from climatic crisis. Seagrass and other valuable marine resources are being decimated by profit-driven cruise ship corporations that dump polluted wastewater into our oceans and churn up sand and contaminants that endanger water quality.
