Somewhere in America – maybe in a community near you – babies are breathing toxins from nearby coal plants. School buses full of children drive by towering smokestacks and grimy fossil fuel refineries. Seniors are unknowingly drinking contaminated water. Wealthy fossil fuel executives don’t site these dirty projects where they live. But everyday people don’t always have the option to say “no.” The National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) is meant to give us a say in whether polluting projects end up in our communities – but this law’s most critical protections were rolled back in 2020! President Biden is updating NEPA rules now, so we need YOUR help to make sure he restores these important regulations. [Tell President Biden to repair our bedrock environmental protections and fight toxic pollution in our communities! >>]( [SIGN THE PETITION]( The polluting projects that NEPA is supposed to protect us from have real, sometimes life-or-death consequences, Friend. Pollution from fossil fuels has been linked to foul odors, SPLITTING headaches, asthma, and even increased CANCER rates! We need President Biden to ensure NEPA is as strong as possible and that it protects you, me, and our neighbors from corporate fossil fuel greed. But it will take environmentalists like you speaking out to make it happen. [Please, Friend, take just 30 seconds to help restore one of our nation’s MOST CRITICAL environmental laws! We need 2,283 more signatures by 11:59pm TONIGHT!]( [SIGN THE PETITION]( Standing with you, Hallie Templeton Legal Director & Senior Campaigner, Friends of the Earth Contact Us: Friends of the Earth U.S. Washington, D.C. | Berkeley, CA 1-877-843-8687 [Contact us](foe.org/about-us/contact/) Email Preferences: [Click here to unsubscribe]( Learn more: www.foe.org/news www.foe.org/about-us www.foeaction.org Connect: [Facebook]( [Twitter]( [Flickr]( © 2021, Friends of the Earth.
