We have a 'Five-Alarm Fire' when it comes to the future of bees, insect pollinators, and our planet.

We have a 'Five-Alarm Fire' when it comes to the future of bees, insect pollinators, and our planet. We’re using National Honey Bee Day to help put it out! Because you are a dedicated member, I am reaching out to you early. I know you won't want to miss this opportunity to do your part to reach our important goal!  Why? Because many wild bee species are on the brink of extinction. And key factors in their decline are toxic pesticides produced by companies like Bayer-Monsanto. Even honeybees are facing serious declines -- with annual colony losses in the U.S. reaching nearly 50%! This National Honey Bee Day, there’s never been a better time to take action. To help boost our efforts, a generous group of donors is matching gifts in honor of National Honey Bee Day, up to our critical $107,000 goal -- but only until midnight tomorrow. Because you are a critical supporter, we have given you early access to help set the pace for National Honey Bee Day: [EARLY NATIONAL HONEY BEE DAY ACCESS FOR {EMAIL}]( It's no secret that many critical pollinators are teetering on the edge. And since 1 out of every 3 bites of food we eat is thanks to pollinators, the situation is dire. We’ve already seen shocking declines in just the last two decades: 87% of Rusty-Patched Bumblebees, 89% of American Bumblebees, and 93% of Western Bumblebees have disappeared. Some are completely gone in several states! But Big Ag acts like this isn’t a big deal. They continue to produce bee-killing pesticides, making U.S. agriculture nearly 48 times more toxic to insects than it was in the 1990s. Pollinators and our planet don’t deserve to die like this. There are better, more sustainable options when it comes to our food system. But the only way to stop Big Ag and its toxic pesticides is together, Friend. Don’t miss this opportunity to DOUBLE your impact and fight for vulnerable pollinators and the planet before it’s too late! This National Honey Bee Day, bees and our planet need your help. Please, donate $27 or more before midnight and have your donation matched -- dollar for dollar. If you've saved payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately: [Donate $27 immediately]( [Donate $50 immediately]( [Donate $100 immediately]( [Donate another amount]( Why is it so important to save bees? Well, the facts speak for themselves: bees are ecosystem engineers. They are pivotal in supporting healthy habitats for birds, insects, and mammals. And bees and other pollinators are vital for a whopping 75% of food crops, like fruits, nuts, and vegetables.   But bees are dying at alarming rates. And toxic pesticides -- like Bayer-Monsanto's neonicotinoids are among the biggest contributors to the massive declines of bees and other pollinators. As pesticide usage increases year over year, bee populations continue to decline. Bees that come in contact with neonics can face horrible fates. The pesticides can impact bees' ability to navigate and reproduce, and even KILL BEES ON CONTACT. They're also the most widely used insecticides in agriculture. But the damage doesn’t end with bees, Friend: Neonicotinoids have been found in the very food we eat. And they can’t be washed off. What’s worse, these dangerous chemicals can be harmful to human health. They’ve been linked to health impacts like birth defects of the heart and brain, hormone disruption, and autism. Big Ag companies like Bayer-Monsanto keep producing bee-killing pesticides for profit. These corporations are doubling down on their destructive path. That’s why we have to take action now to stop them. But we can’t fight the pesticide industry and save the bees without your help! Vulnerable pollinators and the planet need you more than ever: Donate $27 today in honor of National Honey Bee Day and make DOUBLE the impact! If you've saved payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately: [Donate $27 immediately]( [Donate $50 immediately]( [Donate $100 immediately]( [Donate another amount]( Friends of the Earth runs strategic campaigns to eliminate toxic pesticides from our environment. We're pushing garden retailers like Home Depot and Lowe's and supermarkets like Kroger to get these pesticides off their shelves and out of their products. And we’re working to pass policies that ban toxic pesticides in key states and nationally. Our National Honey Bee Day goal means so much to our organization and the planet. We know you recognize how high the stakes are. That’s why we chose you to be part of this select group for early match access. When you make your early-bird membership donation, you'll be ensuring we can mobilize on the ground, keep pressure on legislators, work to prevent the insect apocalypse from getting worse, and do all that we can to protect our planet. Matches like this don’t come often. And the stakes for our pollinators and our planet have never been higher. So, we can’t get complacent -- and we know you won’t let that happen. But there are only a few hours until we open this match up to the rest of our community, and we’re counting on you to set the pace for them. Please, be part of the solution that helps us work to protect bees and other pollinators and save our only Earth: Donate now to have every dollar doubled! Set the pace for National Honey Bee Day and make your $27 donation now to make double the impact and help protect important pollinators and our planet before it’s too late!
