Hidden from sight under the ice’s surface, tiny white creatures roll around playfully. These precious newborn polar bears are too fragile to survive the rigors of the outside Arctic conditions on their own, so they rely on their mama to nurture and nourish them, safe inside their den below the ice. Suddenly, the fluffy cubs stop frolicking. What is that LOUD rumble that seems to be moving closer? The polar bears begin to feel the Earth around them trembling, shaking faster and more vigorously. Terrified, the cubs run to their mama bear for refuge -- but she herself is far from calm as fragments of the den’s walls and ceiling begin to CRACK and CRUMBLE. The quaking of the ground intensifies quickly as mama bear embraces her babies who are whimpering out in fear. Within moments, the den COLLAPSES on top of the innocent mama polar bear and her cubs -- followed by a gigantic oil drilling machine that RUNS OVER their helpless bodies, CRUSHING AND KILLING them. Friend, polar bears are already suffering the worst impacts of human-driven climate change as their sensitive Arctic habitat is melting TWICE as fast as the rest of the world. Meanwhile, the greedy fossil fuel industry wants to continue threatening these beloved animals with increased oil drilling and fracking. [Will you let Big Oil push vulnerable polar bears to EXTINCTION, or will you fight back and take action now to SAVE these iconic animals?]( [SIGN THE PETITION]( Federal laws require Big Oil to avoid known polar bear denning sites by at least a mile when drilling in the Arctic. But studies have shown significant flaws in the accuracy of the current technology used to detect these polar bear shelters deep beneath the ice. Failing to correctly identify dens before fossil fuel extraction could have serious consequences for already-vulnerable polar bears in the Arctic by putting them in danger of being run over, crushed, or even buried alive by industrial oil drilling machines. And now, the Biden administration has just passed a rule permitting more oil and gas activity in the Arctic -- despite the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) confirming a 95% probability that this increase will cause “SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH” to endangered Southern Beaufort Sea polar bears! Innocent polar bears are running out of time, Friend. These defenseless animals are counting on us to be their voice and demand accountability for Big Oil’s corporate greed that is threatening to WIPE THEM OUT. [We need 3,912 more activist signatures by 11:59 P.M. TONIGHT to pressure FWS to reject new oil drilling in the Arctic.
