URGENT ACTION NEEDED: Protect the remaining 73 Southern Resident orcas from Big Oil’s destructive megaprojects! Cappuccino, Marina, and now, young Ripple -- all presumed dead within the last year -- leaving only 73 Southern Resident killer whales remaining in the wild. Orcas are highly social animals that exist in tight-knit families called pods. When a pod member dies, the rest of the pod grieves deeply, and their chances of survival dramatically decreases. The grief alone can actually drive these sensitive animals to starvation. But there are other factors at play leaving these beloved animals CLINGING to survival. Big Oil tankers and cargo shipping traffic are bringing a significant and rising threat of toxic oil spills into orcas’ fragile habitats while increasing noise, water, and air pollution and driving away orcas’ critical food sources. If we don’t take IMMEDIATE action to STOP these destructive megaprojects, the Southern Resident pods could soon disappear FOREVER. [Please, Friend, will you fight back against Big Oil’s corporate greed before it pushes these vulnerable orcas to EXTINCTION?]( [SIGN THE PETITION]( Right now, two CATASTROPHIC megaprojects are poised to make things even harder for the endangered Southern Resident killer whale pods. Scientists agree that the massive container ships from the proposed Roberts Bank T2 terminal project will further disrupt the migration patterns of Chinook salmon, the main food source of orcas, causing severe MALNUTRITION AND STARVATION. And the expansion of the dirty oil Trans Mountain pipeline would transport millions more barrels of TOXIC tar sands oil through Pacific Northwest waters and vulnerable orca habitat. Orcas are just ONE major oil spill away from dying out completely -- and these destructive megaprojects could be what ANNIHILATES these precious sea mammals for GOOD. [We MUST STOP the fossil fuel and shipping industries before that happens, Friend. Sign the petition now to PROTECT endangered orcas >>]( [SIGN THE PETITION]( Thanks for helping save orcas!
