“I The Endangered Species Act is the best line of defense that we have as a tool to keep grizzl

“I [expletive f***ing] laid into him.” “I’m smoking him.” Those were the callous and heartless words of a Wyoming trophy hunter “I [expletive f***ing] laid into him.” “I’m smoking him.” Those were the callous and heartless words of a Wyoming trophy hunter who seemingly took sick pleasure in brutally slaying a precious grizzly bear, according to a series of recently uncovered audio and video recordings. Rifle in hand, the ruthless hunter kneeled over the deceased bear’s bloody corpse, posing for selfies and narrating the poor animal’s gruesome murder. And that’s not all, Friend: the merciless hunter actually CUT OFF one of the bear’s claws to keep as a SOUVENIR! Sadly, violent trophy hunters like this one would like nothing more than to rapidly murder beloved grizzly bears en masse. From steel traps and choking snares that result in slow, painful deaths, to lead bullets that pierce through a bear’s flesh and organs, to explosive dynamite used to blow up nursing mama bears and helpless clubs inside their dens — these vicious trophy hunters will show absolutely NO MERCY when it comes to using the most horrific and inhumane killing methods on innocent grizzlies. It takes a particularly vile and cruel person to enjoy murdering harmless bears for “sport” and “thrills.” No creature on Earth deserves the kind of torturous demise that trophy hunters subject these defenseless animals to, especially not such a treasured and iconic keystone species like the grizzly bear. The situation is urgent and dire. If we don’t act immediately to PREVENT the bloody massacre of innocent grizzly bears, we could soon lose one of North America’s most cherished mammals forever. [Vulnerable mama bears and defenseless cubs are desperately counting on you to be their voice today, Friend. Will you please speak up for our precious grizzlies now before these bears are wiped out forever by brutal trophy hunters?]( [SIGN THE PETITION]( The Endangered Species Act (ESA) is the best line of defense that we have as a tool to keep grizzly bears safe from vicious hunters. But right now, states are pushing for the DELISTING of grizzlies from the ESA and REMOVING life-saving federal protections for these beloved bears! In case you’re not familiar with the background, here’s the deal: Ever since 1975 when grizzlies were first listed under the ESA in the lower 48 states, Big Polluters and the hunting lobby have been relentless with their attempts to reverse these critical bear protections. Now, these pro-hunting, anti-bear parties are closer than ever to succeeding in their efforts. Okay, Friend, so perhaps you might be wondering what exactly Big Polluters like the fossil fuel industry have to gain from giving trophy hunters a free license to kill grizzly bears indiscriminately. It’s all part of a corporate systemic issue, but these are just a few reasons: - Greenwashing: Big Polluters use their support for hunting as a form of greenwashing — where companies and industries align with certain environmental activities under the guise of “wildlife management” — in order to distract both public scrutiny and regulatory focus away from their own large-scale industrial pollution. - Public Land Access: Hunting policies can also influence land use and access to natural resources. Big Polluters benefit from policies that prioritize or favor hunting on public lands because it could allow continued or expanded access to resource-rich areas to run their exploitive operations without much oversight or consequence. - Political Power: Often, Big Polluters are powerful and have significant political influence — therefore, supporting pro-hunting policies can align them with powerful lobbying groups or constituencies that advocate for hunting rights, a political alignment that can help sway policy decisions in their favor or deflect attention from their own poor environmental practices. We can’t let the powerful hunting lobby and their extremist political allies succeed in bullying the EPA into delisting grizzlies from the ESA. We urgently need to build strong public pressure in order to convince the agency to prioritize the survival of this keystone species above Big Polluter profits and political special interests. The future existence of grizzlies is hanging in the balance, hinging on FWS’s next move, Friend. Your action today will have a direct impact on urging the agency to do the right thing for these beloved bears. Together, we need to send a STRONG and IMMEDIATE push and pressure to FWS to make the right decision in the name of grizzly bears. [Every moment of inaction puts beloved grizzly bears one step closer to EXTINCTION. So please, won’t you step up NOW in defense of these beloved animals today? Take action in defense of grizzlies now >>]( [SIGN THE PETITION]( Thanks for being a voice for our precious grizzly bears, Friends of the Earth Contact Us: Friends of the Earth U.S. Washington, D.C. | Berkeley, CA PO Box 7010 Merrifield, VA 22116-7010 1-877-843-8687 [Contact us](foe.org/about-us/contact/) Email Preferences: [Click here to unsubscribe]( Learn more: www.foe.org/news www.foe.org/about-us www.foeaction.org Connect: [Facebook]( [Twitter]( [Flickr]( © 2024, Friends of the Earth.
