[Donate another amount]( Grizzly cubs stumble through the forest, following their mama – but everything changes in an instant. They can barely hear their mama’s cries of pain as gunfire fills the air. She crumples to the ground – lifeless. But the cubs can’t bring themselves to run away. They can’t do life alone, so they cling to their mother’s corpse instead while the battle rages around them. This isn’t just a story, Friend: this is the scene that left 94 helpless grizzlies dead in Alaska last year – including 11 cubs. Now, states like Montana and Wyoming are petitioning to strip protections from grizzly bears – which means history could soon repeat itself. [The Fish & Wildlife Service could make a decision any day, so this could be our last chance to STRENGTHEN Endangered Species Act protections for grizzlies instead of SLASH them! Please: act now and donate $10 towards our $4,000 goal to fight for vulnerable wildlife and our planet!]( These attacks on grizzly protections aren’t new. Extremist lawmakers delisted grizzlies back in 2017, but the decision was reversed – and rightfully so. Ever since, the trophy hunting lobby has been fighting back tooth and nail. And if it wins, gruesome hunting methods like helicopter chases, vicious hunting dogs, and painful traps could become commonplace. But the truth is that these deaths are completely preventable – and we can’t stand by and watch while bloodthirsty hunters drive treasured grizzlies to extinction. The attacks on our nation’s grizzlies must end. Donate $10 today and help us reach our $4,000 midnight goal for wildlife and our planet. [Donate another amount]( Grizzly bears have made a slow but steady recovery over the past several decades. That recovery is thanks to the Endangered Species Act. Back in the 1970s, grizzlies received protections after human-driven habitat loss and excessive hunting and trapping decimated their numbers. Still, grizzlies in the lower 48 states are at just 4% of their historic population. Their habitats are shrinking. Their food sources are dwindling. Climate change is impacting their hibernation cycles. And it’s becoming increasingly clear that grizzlies can’t afford to lose the life-saving protections that keep them safe everywhere. A hunt like last year’s slaughter in Alaska could play out in the continental United States if the Fish & Wildlife Service decide to delist grizzlies. And a hunt of that scale could wipe out grizzly bears in the Northern Rockies forever. Without adequate ESA protections, trophy hunters could be allowed to kill grizzlies indiscriminately, and with no consequences. And once grizzlies are driven out of their lands, Big Polluters will swoop in. They have hopes to open these lands up for mining, logging, and other planet-harming practices. That would destroy any hope of recovery for grizzlies – including reintroduction to their historic range. Friend, it’s clear that we could lose grizzlies without urgent action. That’s why we’ve set our $4,000 midnight goal to fight back against these vicious attacks on our nation’s wildlife. Will you fight with us today to help strengthen the Endangered Species Act and protect vulnerable wildlife and the planet while there’s still time to act? Please, donate $10 or more by midnight tonight to help us reach our $4,000 goal before grizzlies are wiped off the face of the Earth. [Donate another amount]( Grizzly bears play an essential role in the circle of life. When they hunt, they regulate prey populations – protecting plants from overgrazing. That’s why grizzlies are so important to their ecosystems, and why they must be protected under the Endangered Species Act. These laws don’t just protect bears, though. They provide critical protection for America’s species and the lands they roam. They’re also some of our most effective safeguards in the fight to protect our planet from fossil fuel exploitation and curb catastrophic climate change. At Friends of the Earth, we’re fighting to strengthen the Endangered Species Act and all of the wildlife that depends on it. We've collected thousands of comments from supporters just like you urging our leaders to protect this vital legislation. And with your help, we’re pushing back against attacks on the Endangered Species Act and the greedy corporations that want to dismantle it. But the fight is far from over, Friend. Your membership support to Friends of the Earth today will help fuel our work to push back against these vicious attacks on the ESA, safeguard vulnerable wildlife and critical habitats, and protect our planet. Join the fight for our planet and precious wildlife before they are hunted to extinction, and make your $10 membership contribution today! Grizzlies are hanging on by a thread. Rush your $10 donation to fight for wildlife and our planet and help us reach our $4,000 goal by midnight TONIGHT!
