Giant cruise companies are getting away with ASSAULTING innocent whales with massive amounts of toxic pollution. After a brief halt in cruise traffic at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, the cruise industry is back and bigger than ever. That means precious blue and fin whales are in GRAVE PERIL. Because cruise ships can be as big as city blocks, and because they hurtle through our oceans at astonishing speeds, the intense underwater noise disturbs whales’ navigation abilities and can lead to direct ship collisions that violently KILL whales! Over 80 whale deaths are recorded yearly on the West Coast alone. Worse, if whales survive dangerous cruise traffic, they still suffer from MILLIONS of gallons of toxic cruise pollution dumped directly into their ocean habitats! Tomorrow is World Oceans Day. And for the sake of our oceans, and the communities closest to them, we MUST hold cruise companies accountable for their massive pollution problem. Whether from dumping toxic wastewater into sensitive marine ecosystems or the poisoning of coastal communities with massive air pollution, the damage to our planet and all its inhabitants is too great to ignore. But the bad news is decision-makers STILL aren’t doing enough to stop cruise companies from polluting our planet for profits’ sake. So today, in honor of World Oceans Day, we need everyone who cares about oceans (like YOU!) to speak out now. But we have to close our poll at 11:59 P.M. TOMORROW when World Oceans Day ends, and your response is still MISSING! Tell us now: Should cruise companies be held accountable for harming ocean life and coastal communities?
