TIME IS RUNNING OUT TO ACT FOR ENDANGERED SPECIES DAY! Dear Friend, TIME IS RUNNING OUT TO ACT FOR E

TIME IS RUNNING OUT TO ACT FOR ENDANGERED SPECIES DAY! Dear Friend, TIME IS RUNNING OUT TO ACT FOR ENDANGERED SPECIES DAY! It’s a kind of torture that no living creature should have to endure, and a kind of brutality that humans of the 21st century should have long ago abandoned: Slow strangulation by neck snare. Shot to death from the air by hunters in helicopters. The agonizing pangs of poison. Sadly, this cruelty is not a thing of the past. These are the living nightmares that vulnerable gray wolves in the Yellowstone Area still face every day. Earlier this year, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service had the opportunity to stop this tragedy. The agency is charged with protecting vulnerable creatures like wolves after all – but it made the decision NOT to protect wolves in the Northern Rockies under the Endangered Species Act. That means that even wolves protected in the Greater Yellowstone area are vulnerable. The moment they set a paw outside the invisible park boundaries, they face violence and death at the hands of hunters. That’s why I need your help: today is Endangered Species Day, and we’ve set a $30,000 goal to raise what it takes to protect endangered species like gray wolves and our planet. But we only have until MIDNIGHT to reach it – and wolves are running out of time! When wolves across the country were stripped of endangered species protections, the flood gates opened for trophy hunters. In 2021, a spree of trophy hunting decimated the wolf population: Twenty-five wolves – an entire pack – were KILLED in a brutal rampage! Sadly, the slaughter hasn’t stopped. Trophy hunters relentlessly target and gun down mama wolves, leaving their orphaned babies to suffer, freeze, and starve without their mothers. And right now, these atrocities are legal. But it’s no accident that the next generation of wolves are being killed. It’s part of an effort to wipe out threatened species like gray wolves from their habitats. Killing them off them could pave the way for corporate interests that want to profit from drilling, mining, and logging in these critical habitats. And without their lands, wolf populations would stand no chance of recovering. Friend, these attacks against our nation’s endangered species are happening now. But THERE IS HOPE FOR CHANGE, and it starts with you. That’s why Endangered Species Day is so important: together, you and I have the power to protect endangered species like gray wolves and safeguard our planet from irreparable harm. Donate $10 RIGHT NOW for Endangered Species Day and help us protect vulnerable wildlife like wolves and our planet! But human activity and hunting – along with destructive ESA rollbacks – have pushed them to the brink of extinction. Now, only 6,000 wolves remain across the lower 48 states. It isn’t too late to change the tide for wolves. Together, we can still make a difference. Thousands of members like you have already joined the fight. Your support has been instrumental in the progress we've made so far to safeguard the Endangered Species Act and protect species like Northern Rocky gray wolves. When we unite and take bold action, we have proven time and again that we can achieve victories. But the attacks on the ESA are getting tougher, and wolves in the Northern Rockies could face extinction. It is our responsibility to act boldly and swiftly. And Endangered Species Day is the perfect opportunity to make an impact: Please, make a membership gift today and join us in the movement to combat trophy hunters and Big Polluters and protect endangered species and the planet – before we lose wolves forever. Help make this Endangered Species Day count with a $10 contribution to Friends of the Earth while this rare opportunity is still available! Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables.
