BREAKING NEWS: Bedrock environmental law RESTORED after previous administration rollbacks! Here’s what you can do next >> BREAKING NEWS: Bedrock environmental law RESTORED after previous administration rollbacks! Here’s what you can do next >> The National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) gives you the power to oppose polluting projects like factory farms or toxic coal plants from landing in your neighborhood. But the previous administration GUTTED these critical protections, fast-tracking dirty projects from greedy polluters despite community opposition! The good news is that the Council on Environmental Quality just restored and strengthened NEPA so that it’s better than ever before. You are a key reason for this victory! That’s right, Friend. Your support enabled Friends of the Earth to sue the federal government, demanding restoration of our nation’s most fundamental environmental protections, and this victory is a DIRECT RESULT of that litigation! We need to make sure the Council of Environmental Quality receives positive feedback so we can encourage future actions like this one. [Friend, will you take just 30 seconds to sign our Thank You note to the Council of Environmental Quality for strengthening critical environmental protections?]( [SEND YOUR THANK YOU]( It gets better, Friend. This rule made a HISTORIC step by defining and prioritizing environmental justice for the first time in federal regulations. It makes clear that federal agencies have a responsibility to consider disproportionate impacts on already overburdened communities – and requires these agencies to consider impacts to the climate crisis. We need to rapidly build wind turbines, solar panels, and other forms of clean energy to fight climate change. A strong NEPA results in cleaner, more resilient projects that have the community support needed to build that green future. These new rules put us more surely on that path, Friend.
