Earth Day only comes once a year and we can’t waste this chance to make a powerful difference for people, our planet and the vulnerable species we share it with. Friends of the Earth is committed to building a safe and sustainable future for all communities. That’s why we’ll never stop fighting to hold Big Polluters accountable and oppose any business model that sacrifices people for profits. That means stopping mega-polluting projects from POISONING our air and water, standing with Indigenous communities to protect access to our public lands and pushing back against misleading PR campaigns that hide the destruction that oil, chemical and shipping companies leave in their wake. Right now, we need at least 13 more people in your area to claim your 2X match offer and help Friends of the Earth reach our ambitious $90,000 goal before midnight tonight. [Will you donate $10 or more now, and have it DOUBLED to fight back against corporate greed and protect our wildlife, communities and our planet while we still can?]( If you've saved payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately: [Donate $10 immediately →]( [Donate $27 immediately →]( [Donate $50 immediately →]( [Double another amount]( Here's where things stand for our planet: Across land, sea and air, it looks like no place is safe from toxic corporate pollution and the ecological destruction it leaves behind. Just look at these updates: 40% That’s how many bees and other wild insect pollinators are at risk of facing EXTINCTION. Pesticides sold by greedy chemical corporations are decimating them. 16% Over 16% of Florida’s ENTIRE manatee population PERISHED from pollution-driven starvation. The cruise industry is a major culprit in driving these sweet, slow-moving creatures to avoidable death. 2% That’s how little of their historic territory our iconic grizzly bears occupy in the lower 48 states. Their numbers are pitifully low after DECADES of hunting and trapping, and private interests like Big Oil and Gas are wrecking bears’ chances of survival. [Take a stand before animals go extinct]( The list goes on, friend. Everywhere we look, beneficial and iconic species are in danger of massive population decline or total EXTINCTION. On top of decimating them with reckless pollution, corporations and their allies are ATTACKING federal rules that protect animals and the life-sustaining ecosystems all communities rely on! We can’t let them get away with this. Friends of the Earth is pushing back with the power of people and the strongest legal tools we have to hold these companies accountable. Because if bee populations keep plummeting, we could feel the impact on our food system as the cost of healthy foods like fruits, veggies and nuts climbs higher and higher. We could suffer alongside gentle manatees as our oceans fill up with cruise ship waste and fossil fuel pollution. And we could lose some of our best defenses in the fight against the climate crisis as our iconic bears lose their habitats to mining, logging and drilling projects. We share our planet with incredible species, and we all rely on the health and stability of essential ecosystems. We’re not exaggerating when we say that greedy corporations threaten the basis of all life on Earth. But it doesn’t have to be this way. Friends of the Earth is fighting back to stop corporate polluters and protect all our planet’s inhabitants. That’s why reaching our Earth Day goal is so important, but right now we’re falling behind and need to raise $90,000 before midnight! With just hours left before our match expires, we’re counting on supporters like you to chip in and close the gap. [The stakes couldn’t be higher for our planet, so please help make this Earth Day count. Make your membership gift of $10 or more now – before our Earth Day match expires at midnight – to help Friends of the Earth protect our planet and everything that lives on it from corporate-driven destruction.]( If you've saved payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately: [Donate $10 immediately →]( [Donate $27 immediately →]( [Donate $50 immediately →]( [Double another amount]( Thank you for your urgent support, Friends of the Earth Contact Us Friends of the Earth U.S. Washington, D.C. | Berkeley, CA PO Box 7010 Merrifield, VA 22116-7010 1-877-843-8687 [Contact Us]( Email Preferences [Unsubscribe]( Learn more [foe.org/about-us]( [foe.org/news]( [foeaction.org]( Connect [Friends of the Earth on Facebook]( [Friends of the Earth on Twitter]( [Friends of the Earth on Flickr]( © 2024, Friends of the Earth.
