She doesn’t know that hunters are waiting in the trees to take advantage of her weakened state. She doesn’t have time to react as bullets shred through her skin. And she lets out one final groan of agony as her lifeless body thumps to ground, her blood staining the snow red. Just feet away in their den, her terrified, now orphaned cubs watch in horror. [No bear family deserves this fate, Friend: donate $10 today and help us hit our urgent $6,500 goal by MIDNIGHT to protect vulnerable wildlife and our planet before another mama bear dies.]( Over the long winter, mama bears nursing their newborns spend more time in hibernation than any other bears. That means come spring, their sleepy bodies are also the weakest. Trophy hunters know this – that’s why they target fragile new mamas who can’t put up a fight. In some states, they even go so far as to lay out painful metal clamps and LURE mamas out of their den with bait that’s mistaken as dinner for their weak, newborn babies. Left alone in the den, these babies have slim to no chance of survival. Without their mamas, they face gruesome fates like starvation and hypothermia. Or the very same hunter that brutally murdered their mama could decide to go after these helpless babies next. The worst part? All of this is completely legal when it comes to black bear hunting. The violence has to end now, Friend. Hunters are decimating bear families. Rush your $10 donation now towards our $6,500 goal to protect vulnerable wildlife and our planet! In fact, hunters are working to dismantle environmental laws in order to brutally attack and annihilate these poor creatures at their most vulnerable. But grizzly bears have already lost 97% of their historic range. They’re recovering from serious declines in the 19th and early 20th centuries caused by human trapping and hunting. As it stands, grizzly bears won’t survive if trophy hunters succeed in stripping them of their Endangered Species Act (ESA) protections – one of the only things keeping them alive. That’s why this is such a big deal: and now, Big Polluters are joining the fight to attack this bedrock environmental law. But why would Big Polluters care? Well, the ESA is one of our strongest tools to protect species against mega-polluting, climate-wrecking, wildlife-killing industries and their allies – and the attacks on this critical law prove that it’s working. But when the law weakens, wildlife becomes more vulnerable to fossil fuel activity and other planet-destroying practices. We can’t let extremist politicians and greedy interests unleash even more ecological destruction on our fragile planet! That’s why I need your help today. Right now, only 2,000 grizzlies remain in the lower 48 states. And they’re at serious risk of extinction if trophy hunters and Big Polluters get their way in this fight. But I know you won’t let that happen. Don’t let greedy interests wipe grizzlies off the face of the earth. Donate $10 today and protect our wildlife and planet before it’s too late. If you've saved payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately: [Donate $10 immediately]( [Donate $27 immediately]( [Donate $50 immediately]( [Donate another amount]( We’re running out of time to protect grizzly families, Friend. We’re seeing these attacks play out as you read this email: Montana and Wyoming already petitioned the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) to strip grizzlies of their ESA protections. Both states are in the top 5 states with the MOST registered hunters! Not to mention, grizzly bears aren’t bound by state lines. If they are delisted in even one state, a helpless grizzly – even a cub – could easily wander across state borders and be KILLED WITHOUT CONSEQUENCE.  If we’re going to turn things around for grizzlies before FWS answers these petitions this summer, we need help from generous supporters like you. Already, supporters like you have submitted thousands of comments urging our elected leaders to put an end to these vicious attacks against the ESA. Your membership gift today would take that action a step further and help us do everything we can to fight to strengthen rather than slash the ESA and protect our nation’s wildlife and our planet.   It's clear that trophy hunters and Big Polluters think it’s more important to kill for fun and put our planet in danger than protect vital species that roam our lands. All for the sake of profit. Plain and simple, the inhumane treatment of bears and their cubs can’t continue. But our nation’s wildlife don’t have voices of their own, Friend. That’s why they need you to be their voice today. So please – join the fight for our planet and precious wildlife before they are lost forever, and make your $10gift today to help us reach our $6,500 goal and protect our planet!  Bear cubs may soon be left to starve or freeze to death. Donate $10 today and help us hit our $6,500 goal for wildlife and the planet by midnight tonight!
