Our planet is losing the equivalent of 27 athletic fields each minute to deforestation. Fight for forests and our planet and donate $10 today! Dear Friend, Our planet is losing the equivalent of 27 athletic fields each minute to deforestation. Fight for forests and our planet and donate $10 today! If you've saved payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately: [Donate $10 immediately]( [Donate $27 immediately]( [Donate $50 immediately]( [Donate another amount]( Debris rains down from the forest canopy. Metal machines tear through the trees. Orangutan families flee in terror. Indigenous land defenders are hauled off to prison for protecting their land. What’s all this destruction for? The land is being razed and flattened for palm oil plantations and industrial cattle ranches. That’s right: Indigenous people and helpless animals are paying the price for Big Agribusiness profits! [But we don’t have to let reckless corporations get away with destroying our planet’s forests: take action today and donate $10 to help protect the world’s last great rainforests and the planet from money-hungry corporations!]( Across the tropics, from the Amazon to Indonesia, land that Indigenous people have stewarded for generations is being violently stolen and flattened. Reckless corporations are conducting illegal deforestation that contributes to 10 million hectares of forest loss per year – that’s bigger than the entire country of South Korea! These planet-killing actions are leading to devastating habitat loss for countless species, serious air and water pollution, and driving Indigenous people out of their homes. Friend, people and wildlife shouldn’t be pushed out of their homes for the sake of corporate greed. Ask yourself which is more important: payday for million-dollar Agribusiness or flourishing forests that sustain the people who live there, the wildlife that roam the land, and our entire planet? Big Agribusiness is chopping down our forests without a second thought. Fight back and donate $10 today to protect our planet! If you've saved payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately: [Donate $10 immediately]( [Donate $27 immediately]( [Donate $50 immediately]( [Donate another amount]( The importance of tropical forests cannot be overstated. Indonesia’s forests are home to 10% of the world’s known plant species like the Rafflesia Arnoldii (the world’s largest flower!), 12% of mammal species like Sumatran tigers, and an impressive 17% of all known bird species like birds-of-paradise. But when companies take over these lands for profit, they put all of these species at risk. Tropical forests are also one of our best defenses against climate change and a refuge for abundant biodiversity found nowhere else in the world. If the corporate assault on global forests continues, all of this is lost. Already, global deforestation is responsible for 18% of greenhouse gas emissions! But Big Agribusiness continues to be complicit in destroying these critical forests with no consideration for people and the planet. On top of this, they are profiting from a long history of violent land grabbing abetted by Indonesian security forces and implicated in illegal deforestation. And these companies know that people power can stop them. That’s why Indigenous farmers are being imprisoned for defending their own land – without these activists, companies can get away with tearing up the ground and toppling trees to make way for their plantations. This corporate-driven deforestation can’t go on undermining local land rights and livelihoods. We need to increase the pressure and show that we need action now -- before it’s too late and these ancient forests are gone forever!  Help protect our forests, people, and planet before it’s too late. Rush your $10 donation now! If you've saved payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately: [Donate $10 immediately]( [Donate $27 immediately]( [Donate $50 immediately]( [Donate another amount]( Friends of the Earth is working to stop the reckless destruction of vital Indonesian forests. We’ve successfully pressured a dozen major brands to stop buying from Indonesia’s second largest palm oil company. And we’re mobilizing supporters like you to get a tropical forest protection bill, the New York TREES Act, passed this year. But we can’t win these fights without your support, Friend. As you read this, local communities are still being denied the rights to their land and endangered animals are pushed into increasingly smaller habitats. Your membership gift today will drive our work to protect our planet’s vital resources, lift up the work of Indigenous activists fighting for their land, and help us fight for a just, sustainable future. Please, will you make a membership contribution of $10 or more today and help stop these injustices and protect our planet? Precious forests, endangered wildlife, and local livelihood are on the line. Donate $10 or more immediately and help protect ecosystems and the planet from corporate greed!
