VC + Startups 🎯 - Beam, a five-month old, San-Francisco based startup which aims to help general contractors pay subcontractors more easily, has received $4 million in a seed funding round. The founder and lead investors previously worked at Stripe as a software engineer and in the product marketing team. - OneThird a Dutch startup which want to address the world's inefficient food supply chain. With the estimated cost of global food waster topping $1 trillion, the food-tech team at OneThird are using AI to minimize food wastage and have secured and additional €2.75 million to scale. c - MVision AI, a Helsinki-based startup provides a cloud based SaaS solution for radiotherapy treatment planning. This automates cancer treatment planning with AI-powered automatic segmentation to help streamline the workflow, resulting in patients starting a treatment plan sooner. The startup has secured €5.4 million to scale. Crypto 👾 - Binance temporarily halted spot trading, deposits and withdrawals due to a bug in the "matching engine". Streaming drives the global music industry resurgence As physical music sales declined, music industry revenues bottomed out in 2014 at $13.1 billion and it wasn't until the widespread use of streaming services appeared that the industry's fortune's changed.
