(up to that point in my flipping business.) A $1,700 SALE ON EBAY! Holy cow!! That was a lot of money (and still is!) Then a week or so later I opened my ebay account on my computer (there were no smart phones back in the day), and I saw the dreaded message: RETURN REQUEST. What? No, this can't be true. Oh, it was true. Only it got worse. The buyer wasn't happy that the Nordic track I sent him was not in mint condition like I had claimed it was. (Pro tip - NEVER make an item sound better than it is!) But aside from him being a little disappointed, the nordic track arrived damaged. The shipping carrier had damaged it to a point it was no longer functional and he wanted to return it. Fair enough, that makes sense. And knowing what I know now, I would have been able to get my money from a shipping claim. But guess who didn't get shipping insurance on this item... Yep. That would be me. And even if I had got shipping insurance, I am not sure I would have been covered because of my packing job. I didn't pack it to the guidelines because the smaller the box, the cheaper the shipping cost, and I'm sure I cut corners to "save money". And to pour salt in the wound, I had already spent the money so I had to quickly figure out a way to refund him! Man, I have learned a lot over the years and I would not make those mistakes again!
