Plus, investments defying death and gravity | Hello, It’s your Finimize analyst team here. 🌎 The World This Week Last year drilled one belief firmly into our psyche: Succession is the best television show of this generation. Oh, and that higher interest rates are, on the whole, bad for stocks. After all, they make it more expensive for companies to spend money on themselves, and they reduce stock valuations in the present day too. But for some of the US’s biggest firms, there’s reason to doubt that: [higher interest rates could happen, and they could actually help stocks](. There could be plenty of fresh stocks to choose from, too. Very few private companies have listed on public stock exchanges over the last two years, with higher interest rates denting their valuations and making investors more cautious about taking a punt on a newcomer. But [this year could be an IPO (initial public offering) fest, so you should know how to beat the public market curse](. We need some fresh options, after all. US stocks have been a reliable bet for the last decade, handing investors unrivaled returns with limited uncertainty. But it’ll be a struggle to keep that pace up for the next ten years, so you might want to [check out markets further afield.]( Although if Goldman Sachs’ predictions are anything to go by, the world’s companies will be run by human-shaped robots in the not-too-distant future. Or at least, there will be a few high-tech Frankensteins around. See, [Goldman sees the rise of the humanoids arriving sooner than you might think](, and that could change the world – and *gasp* the financial market – as we know it. While we’re on the topic of robots, indistinguishable from humans, taking over the Earth, we may as well peek into some other daunting, existential-crisis-inducing concepts. The space sector and the longevity economy – that’s stuff like biotech, regenerative medicine, anti-aging treatments, and genomics – could one day let humans defy death and gravity. In fact, [if Einstein were an investor today, this would probably be where he’d look](.
