Birth records can be found for: - Padraic Colum born Patrick Columb, was an Irish novelist, poet, and playwright, as well as a collector of folklore and a biographer. From this index, we learn that Colum was born on 8 December 1881 to Patrick and Susan. His father’s occupation is recorded as Master of the Longford Workhouse. - The Irish novelist Walter Macken is included in these records. From his record, we learn he was born on 3 May 1915 in Galway. His father’s name was Walter and he was employed as a carpenter. His mother’s name is recorded as Agnes Brady. As well as marriage records for: - Austin Clarke, the Irish poet from Dublin, married his first wife in 1920. The marriage was recorded as taking place on 31 December 1920 at District Mansions Cotton Place. His wife’s name is recorded as Cornelia Cummins. Clarke’s occupation is listed as Lecturer M C D. His father’s name and occupation are recorded as well: Augustine Clarke, municipal officer. Cummins’ father’s name and occupation is likewise recorded: Edward Cummins, banker. - Dorothy Price (née Stopford), the Irish physician known for introducing the BCG Vaccine for tuberculosis, was married to William George Price on 8 January 1925. Her husband’s occupation is listed as a barrister at law. Her father’s occupation was listed as Chief Accountant Irish Land Commission.
