Fight for Reform is dedicated to electing Democrats, transforming our broken campaign finance system, and ending Citizens United state by state. If you would like to unsubscribe, [click here.]( {NAME}, Late this afternoon we sent an email about the Texas Governor's race. Soon after, news broke of the tragic mass shooting at an elementary school in Uvalde, Texas. We’re deeply sorry for the poor timing of our email and any pain or confusion it may have caused. Unfortunately, we live in a country where we’re merely waiting for and never sure when the next gun tragedy will strike. Our hearts are shattered for the loved ones of the victims of this horrific tragedy and every parent wondering if it is safe to send their child to school tomorrow. [For resources on coping with gun violence, click here to visit Sandy Hook Promise's website for more information.]( This devastating attack comes just days after another mass shooting at a grocery store in Buffalo, New York. We are yet again reminded of the horrific reality that insufficient gun safety laws inflict on innocent people each and every day. A reality that the National Rifle Association and Conservative Dark Money groups spend millions to uphold. Despite more than 90% of Americans supporting stricter gun control laws, Republicans in Congress remain beholden to the NRA and pro-gun groups that fund their campaigns. In the first half of 2019 alone, the NRA spent $1.6 million lobbying Congress against passing gun control legislation. Our work to rid our political system of corruption and Big Money is critical to passing the gun safety legislation we desperately need in our country. [As we continue this important work, we encourage you to click here and make a donation to March for our Lives to directly support initiatives to reduce gun violence in communities across the country and take on the gun lobby.
