English guys at a baseball game ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ When I was 25 years old I was making $5,000 a month at my job as a copywriter. I had moved to Austin, TX to work with a great company and learned a TON. I met an English copywriter guy that was living in Austin and we pretty much immediately became best friends. He was 13 years older than me and much further along in his career. One night we went to a minor league baseball game and I’ll never forget that night. Not because of the baseball. I don’t even remember the name of the teams or who won. But I’ll never forget the conversation I had with my buddy. I asked him how much he was making writing copy. He said "I make $15,000 a month from one client. I write for them for 2 weeks of each month. Then for the other two weeks I either do nothing or I take on another client and make another $15,000." I literally looked at him like he was speaking a language I didn’t understand. He was making 3 times more than me while working half of the month. I said "Holy shit dude. I can’t even fathom making that much money. I wouldn’t even know what to do with that much money." At the time I was super cheap. I lived a very modest lifestyle. I was young and $15,000 per month just seemed insane to me. Over the next 6 months I finally got the courage to leave my job. He and my other buddies kept telling me I was ready to break out on my own and make way more money. I was scared but I finally quit and what happened next was shocking. About 2 weeks after I quit I was playing tennis at a guy’s house and on one of the breaks I checked my email for some reason. I had an email from a company that wanted to hire me to write some copy for them. They wanted to pay me $20,000 per sales letter and $1,500 per email. Plus massive bonuses worth up to $120,000. I was mind blown. It’s all I could think about while I was playing tennis. I said yes to their offer first thing the next morning. Over the next month I wrote the sales letters and emails. I ended up getting a good portion of the bonuses and made $120,000 from the work I did over the month. It probably only took me about 12 hours total. In one month I made more than I made the entire previous year at my job. (I ended up getting a $60,000 bonus at my job so I made $110,000 that year.) Over that year I made $30,000 to $50,000 per month. I had quadrupled the $15,000 per month I didn’t even think was possible. Ever since then I’ve made at least half a million a year with my own companies and consulting. I’m not saying any of this to sound cool or brag. I’m telling you this because my money identity shifted. I believed myself to be a guy who could only earn about $100,000 year. By hanging out with people that were further along than me and doing a bunch of unique therapy, I shifted my identity to become a much higher earner. Now I couldn’t imagine only making $15,000 in a month. In fact, that wouldn’t cover my expenses. The reason I’m telling this is because there’s a really important lesson in this story. I did improve my skills. I made connections with wealthier people. I built new companies. But the most important thing I did was shift my mindset, identity, and relationship to money. I truly believe that your money beliefs are the foundation of how much you’ll earn, save, spend, and invest. That’s why I highly recommend everyone figures out their biggest money blocks and how to get rid of them. My Remove Your Money Blocks course teaches you exactly how to do that. It’s normally $47 but right now you can grab it for just $27. [ Click here to check it out]( Talk soon, Ian "change your identity and your life will change" Stanley P.S. If you’re already making six or seven figures a year and want to increase your income, you should come out to Boise in February for a little I’m planning I’m doing with the new "neuroenergetic" coach guy I’ve been working with. I’ve paid him $30,000 to work with him over the last 3 months and it’s been some of the best money I’ve ever spent. We’re doing a "Deep Money Beliefs" in-person workshop in Boise February 3rd and 4th. It’s $5,000 to attend the event. If you’re interested, just fill out the application below and book a call to talk to Sam (the coach) about the event. We’re only taking 5 people for this event.
