This week I subjected myself to some physical and mental hardship. I won't talk about what I did because it unfortunately pisses some people off more than loud chewing in a library. But I will say this... You gotta do hard shit in your life. I have a really easy life. I'm aware of that. Once I started working for myself and doing pretty much whatever I want...I realized something... I was getting soft. Not my physical body. (Or other parts of my body.) Just my mind. And I hated it. My life became so easy that I lost my ability to do hard stuff. My life is still super easy compared to most people's lives. And I'm deeply grateful for that. I also understand that this all may sound douchey or whatever and that's fine. I know most people have much harder lives than I do and I empathize with that. But humans aren't meant to live in a constant state of easiness. It's unnatural to touch a button on your phone and have food show up. It's unnatural to never have to leave your home. Even a poor person (in a first world country) in today's world has a better life than just about anyone 150 years ago. We literally have air conditioners that we can drive in. (Cars.) We don't have any relationship to the food we consume. We don't have any idea where anything comes from. And we numb ourselves with social media and Netflix to the point of being bored if we're not constantly stimulated. (I'm not bashing Netflix or social media...they're both amazing...in moderation.) And I'm sure as hell not sitting here on a high horse pretending to be perfect. I'm just commenting on society... And setting all of this up to say... Do hard shit. Whatever hard is to YOU. If that's walking one mile...do that. If hard to you is carrying 140 pounds up and down a mountain covered in brush...do that. If hard is meditating for 10 minutes...do that. Just do something you don't wanna do this weekend...even if it's only for 5 minutes...and enjoy the hard part of it. I don't believe hard work is the answer to making more money. (Largely because of something called "kind" and "unkind" environments which I'll talk about another day.) But I do believe doing hard shit is an important part of a fulfilling life. So get out there and do something hard. This ends this week's Stanley Sermon. Have an epic weekend. Talk soon, Ian "society is weirder now than ever" Stanley P.S. I believe in doing hard things to train your mind and body...but when it comes to making money I like doing easy things. This coming week I'm gonna sell something I've never sold before...it'll make your life WAY easier if you write emails. Sent to: {EMAIL} [Unsubscribe]( Almost Passive Income, 3000 Mountain Shadow Rd, Boise, ID 83702, United States

Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables.
