How "Therapy" Tripled My Income... ...and why you should listen to your heroes... When I still had a "job" I decided to fork out $16,000 of my own money to join a mastermind. (A "true" mastermind is a group of 12 or less people getting together to collectively grow each other’s businesses.) This particular mastermind was with John Carlton . If you don’t know who he is, he’s widely acknowledged as one of the greatest copywriters of all time. He’s basically a living legend. To me this was EXPENSIVE. I could technically afford the $16k, but it was a BIG stretch for me at the time. Here’s how I convinced myself to fork over the cash…I said to myself: "If I can’t make more than $16,000 from being in a room with John Carlton then that’s my fault." Now here’s the part that surprised me. I went to JC’s group to learn more about copywriting. To learn how to become a freelancer. To soak up his business knowledge. But what I walked away with was something COMPLETELY different. See, the style of the mastermind was simple. Each person gets a one hour "hot seat" where everyone dives into their business to help them with their most pressing needs. I wanted to quit my job but had a bunch of emotional hang ups about it. I was also worried about whether or not I’d be able to make it as a freelancer. I wanted tactical knowledge and skills. Yet after an hour of my hot seat, John just said one thing: "Get a therapist." Me: "What? What does that have to do with being an entrepreneur?" JC: "Look, I’m not saying you’re broken or crazy. I’m just saying you should get a therapist." Me in my head: "Ok, I mean if you weren’t John Carlton I’d think you were crazy and tell you to suck it." So I wrote it down in my little notebook: "Get a therapist." Then I went home and proceeded to NOT get a therapist. Every week I’d say to myself "just find someone Ian." Then I’d put it off for another week and go back to my life. A few months after meeting my hero John Carlton, I ended up in another room surrounded by other legends. (People like Travis Sago, Ron Lynch, and Sean Platt. All courtesy of David Gonzalez.) This room had about 12 people in it. One of those people was Tucker Max. (He wrote a bunch of best-selling books that I read when I was in college so it was sort of surreal to be sitting across from him. A "meet your hero" type of moment.) I had a thirty minute hot seat. I talked about not knowing my next steps and the fact that I wasn’t doing the things that were important to me. And I remember exactly what Tucker said to me: Tucker: "Ian, get a therapist." Me: "I’ve heard that before." Tucker. "Then do it. Here’s the problem though. When you’re smart, it’s hard to find the right therapist. You can talk circles around most of them. I went through 17 therapists before I found the right one." Me: "Holy shit. Ok, I’ll find one." Tucker: "Seriously, do it." Then he wrote me this little note that I still have: "Put the things you love, first in your life." So did I get a therapist? NOPE. The self-sabotage was strong with me. Fast forward about a year and a half later. A girl I was dating told me about this "non-traditional" therapist she worked with. The way she described him intrigued me and I FINALLY pulled the trigger. I finally signed up for a four day intensive with him and it dramatically changed my life. I know people throw that phrase around flippantly. "Changed my life." But it fits in this situation. What was the result? Well here’s what happened in my "external world" in the last year: -I've tripled my income. -I work about 1/4 as much as I used to. (I typically work about 3 hours per day.) -I'm in the second best shape of my life. (And quickly closing in on the best.) -I’m in a relationship with someone who loves me for me and I love her for her. -I'm the happiest I've ever been. You may be thinking…that sounds too good to be true…how could a "therapist" do all of that? The short story for the income part is this: "Most business problems, once you get to a certain level of skill, aren't business problems. They're emotional or personal problems." The rest of it is a longer story that I'll get to in a second. But I promise it’s possible. So if you’re interested in going through a similar transformation I’ve got a way for you do it… The guy who changed my life is Brent Charleton. He hasn't taught anything publicly since him and I closed down our business in 2019. But he's showing his methods for rapid transformation on a free zoom call this Tuesday at 9am pacific time. Now here’s the cool part… Brent now charges $125,000 to work with him one on one for a year. I personally paid to work with him before we started a business together. (It was around $30,000 at that time.) The call with Brent will be Tuesday at 9am pacific time. Just click the link below at that time to join. [ Click here to join on Tuesday]( If I only have one promise it’s this… No matter what you’ve done in the past…I guarantee this is different material. I was a MASSIVE skeptic before I went to Brent. It was until I met him that I realized this was completely unique. So no matter how much therapy, or Tony Robbins, or Landmark forum you’ve done…or how many books you’ve read…or Ayahuasca ceremonies you’ve participated in…this is worth checking out. That’s all for now. Talk soon, Ian "listen to your heroes" Stanley Sent to: {EMAIL} [Unsubscribe]( Almost Passive Income, 3000 Mountain Shadow Rd, Boise, ID 83702, United States
