Holy s***. I’m exhausted. I FINALLY finished going through the YouTube ad submissions for the YouTube Ad script competition I held at the end of last year. There were almost 200 submissions! It took me a long ass time to read through them all. But I did it. If you’re new to my list, I held a competition to write YouTube ad scripts for my 90 Days to Freedom program. The winner gets $500. Second place gets $250. Third gets $100. I thought I’d get like 20 submissions and be able to go through them fast. Instead I got something like 186 submissions. And here’s the most shocking part… There were a lot of really good ads. Like way better than I expected. (There were some really bad ones too…but that was expected.) It took me hours and hours of reading to go through them all. And I finally decided on the winners. First place is Jon Martin. His ads were the most creative while also being easy to understand. Second place is Peter Lu. When I read his ad I thought it was gonna win for sure. It was real close between him and Jon. But Jon wrote more ads so I had to give him the edge. (And Jon added some humor and I'm a sucker for humor.) Third place is Matthias Turner. He’s actually a coach in our 90 Days to Freedom program. It was really cool to see a student turned coach write such a great ad. It was simple but really unique. I’ll be reaching out to each of you individually to send you your money. But I also wanted to give some honorable mentions out to the amazing writers who wrote great ads. I was seriously blown away by the quality of what you guys put together. Unfortunately not everyone could be a winner since there were only 3 prizes. Here’s the honorable mentions in no particular order: Norm Jones Kevin Cook Ian Pettit Bill Stuart Glenn Williams Andrew Licciardi Michelle Radcliff Jeff Hicks Bernadette Chin Abdullahi Abdurashid Stephen Pratley Devam Mitra Jerry Joseph Kifayah Tiamiyu Bashir Musa Mirka Pohjanrinne Kyle Roberts Bassingal Barbara Jordan Conner Alex Starr Julian Danylak Jacob Francis Elaine Zafe Olga G Zach Lohner Matija Todorovic Heidi Anspaugh Jennifer Buckner Marko Curovic You all did amazing work. If I end up using your ads and they make money I’ll make sure to send you something :) Feel free to reply to this email if you have any questions. Anyways. That’s all for today. Thank you all for competing. Talk soon, Ian “I was impressed” Stanley P.S. [This is the product they wrote the ads for](. Flesch reading score

Flesch reading score measures how complex a text is. The lower the score, the more difficult the text is to read. The Flesch readability score uses the average length of your sentences (measured by the number of words) and the average number of syllables per word in an equation to calculate the reading ease. Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables. Usually, a reading ease score of 60-70 is considered acceptable/normal for web copy.
