Last month I sent out an email with the subject line: Wanna win $500 to write some words? The idea was simple… You guys write YouTube Ad scripts for 90 Days to Freedom and the person who writes the best one gets $500. The "best one" means the ad actually converts to cold traffic, we'll pay you $500. (Converts means we can profitably spend at least $250 a day on it.) The best ad will get $500. The second best ad will $250. And the third best will get $100. I thought I’d get something like 5 or 10 submissions. I got almost 100! I legit did not expect that. It was amazing…but also caused a bit of a problem. It was wayyyy too many to go through in any reasonable amount of time. And since I got way too many submissions to respond to each person individually, I wanted to let everyone know what’s happening with the competition. 1. I will be reviewing all ads during the month of January. (It might be in the next week, but I wanna give myself some runway in case it takes way longer than expected.) 2. I’ll narrow it down to about 10 ads I like the most. 3. I’ll narrow it down to 3-5 ads that I think will perform best and record all of them. (This will happen in early February at the latest is the plan.) 4. We will test those and should have results by the end of February at the latest. There’s a chance we’ll have them this month - I just want to be realistic. 5. If you’re a winner, we will likely hire you to write more and more ads for us. I’ll also announce you to my whole list as champion. And recommend you to friends of mine. I know it’s probably slower than you’d like, but I’d rather film these properly and do them right rather than rush them. I just wanna say that the ads I’ve gone through so far were way better than expected. I was impressed. A few of them sucked. But most were solid, so good work! Just wanted to send out that update as I’ve had people emailing me asking about it. Talk soon, Ian "excited to test these" Stanley P.S. I’m legit hesitant to do this because I got so many submissions already, but I’m gonna open it up one more time. I only sent one email about this in the past because I got so many responses I didn’t need to send another one. So if you didn’t see that one, here’s your last chance to enter.  You have until Friday night, January 20, to enter. If you already submitted, no need to resubmit, I have your ad. Here’s the original email I wrote so you can see it. Wanna win $500 to write some words? I’m gonna do a little contest and give $500 to the winner… …and that winner could be you. See, the most important part of my business right now is YouTube Ads. We spend thousands of dollars a day on YouTube Ads. Our goal is to spend tens of thousands per day. The more we spend, the more we make. And more importantly, the more people we get to help. That may sound cheesy but it's true. The more we can spend on ads, the more people's lives we get to changes. We've helped over 500 students change their lives in the 90 Days to Freedom program. We'd love to make that number 10,000. We do that by spending more on ads. We spend more on ads by testing more ads and creating better ads. That's where you come in. I wanna do a little contest. Anyone can participate. You don't need experience. You just need to be willing to write. Even if you don't win, you'll learn from the experience. And I'll personally be reading each ad to see if they're any good. If your ad is any good, we will turn it into a video and test it as an ad. (You can write as many ads as you want. The more you write, the more chances you get to win.) If that ad actually converts to cold traffic, we'll pay you $500. (Converts means we can profitably spend at least $250 a day on it.) The best ad will get $500. The second best ad will $250. And the third best will get $100. But they have to actually CONVERT. Good means it's making money, not that I thought it was cute or clever. Interested in entering the competition? Here's how it's gonna work: 1. Go to www.90dtf.com to see what you're writing about. That's the main page we run traffic to. The ad will send people to that page. (Or directly to the VSL in some tests.) 2. You should probably watch the video on the next page so you can see what it's all about. Basically we teach people how to get paid to write emails for other companies. 3. Write an ad. (The ad can be any length. Our best ad ever is 8 minutes long. Some of our other best ads are less than a minute. The length is up to you.) 4. Send me the ad. To enter the competition you must follow this next part EXACTLY. Send an email to ian@almostpassiveincome.com with the subject line "YouTube Ad Script Competition" Any other subject lines will not be looked at. Put your ad in the email. Could be directly written in the email. Or a text file or whatever else you use to write. Like I said, if I think it's a good ad I'll turn it into a video and test it. If you win, you'll get paid. And I'll shout out your skills to my entire list to brag about you. That's all. You have until December 16th to submit your ad. Talk soon, Ian "let me pay you" Stanley P.S. Any questions? Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables. Usually, a reading ease score of 60-70 is considered acceptable/normal for web copy.
