13 rules to be a terrible writer ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ â€

13 rules to be a terrible writer ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ I'm a BIG fan of Derek Johanson's emails. There's only like 3 people who's emails I read almost every time they send one. Derek is one of those people. Which is why it kinda blows my mind that I've had the honor of buying his company and getting to work so closely with him. I truly love his style and his ideas. It's a little embarrassing but I guess I'm a bit of a Derek Johanson fanboy. (Don't tell him I said that!) It's also a testament to the power of hand copying and CopyHour. I particularly enjoyed the email he wrote today so I just wanted to share it with you here...I love opposites and his email does a great job of capturing that concept. Here's his email... ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- I've found that NOT to-do lists are better than to-do lists. And I've found the following exercise to be very helpful: Write out the wrong way to do or achieve something and then flip it on its head and do the opposite. "Our brains are much better at finding problems than they are at finding solutions". - Alex Hormozi So let's list out a bunch of ways to write bad copy and stay poor. Then it'll be pretty easy to see what needs to be done to write great copy. Here are 13 ways to write bad copy that will kill your sales & keep you poor: 1. Don't include a call to action (CTA). A great way to stay poor is to never tell someone to buy something. To do this, never include a buy button. 2. Don't make promises about what your product can do for someone. Be timid about the results it could provide. 3. Only list the features of your product. Don't try to spell out how those features will benefit them. People will figure it out on their own. 4. Don't establish a value for your product that is higher than what you're charging in return. If someone can't see that they're getting a deal, that's their problem. 5. Make sure you try to solve all of the customers issues at once. Never hone in on one particular problem-area. Products should solve every problem people have. 6. Write in a scientific way and at a college reading level. If people can't understand, they should either a) educate themselves or b) put down their phone and stop being distracted so they can give you their full attention. 7. Be boring, avoid opinions, and never have a personality. People are completely rational and want science only when they're buying things. 8. Shy away from "secrets" because they're shady. Any sort of "open loop" is bad. 9. Don't include proof to back up what you say. People should believe you're telling the truth. 10. If you don't write a winner on your first try, you should quit. This is the best way to stay poor. 11. Spend the majority of your time writing, not researching. You should be able to write for any industry without researching the customers or product. 12. Never repeat yourself. If you've said it once, you've said it a million times. 13. Don't waste your time handwriting, studying or reading about copy. You don't need to understand or internalize any copywriting concepts. Those are just a few starter "ways to write bad copy". In CopyHour, I'll teach you how to do the opposite. [Speaking of CopyHour... let's talk about the Bonuses (beyond the bonuses Ian is providing).]( Bonus #1: How To Get Email Clients I know one of the biggest questions folks have is: "After I learn the skill of copywriting... how do I start getting clients?" There are basically a million questions on this particular topic. And there are a ton of different methods to use to get started. So what I've done is this: I've put together a bonus that includes 2 video interviews with Ian Stanley & Lukas Resheske. I spoke with both Ian & Lukas about getting email clients specifically. These are the 2 of the top email copywriters (plus instructors) in the game right now. Why email? It's the easiest way to get started as a copywriter and email marketing is super hot right now (outside of the copywriting world too). So when you join the program by Sunday, you'll get access to those video trainings and know exactly what to do with the copywriting skills CopyHour will help you develop. $200 value. Bonus #2: The IPCC Framework: How To Create Information Products Fast Need a way to create content fast? Want a structure you can use to create products, courses, ebooks, reports, trip-wires, videos and/or audio trainings? Then the IPCC Framework is for you. IPCC stands for "Info Product Course Creation". You can use it to create an entire course or simply just an ebook report you need for lead generation. I previously sold this for $200 on its own. Bonus #3: The Automated Webinar Funnel Campaign Let me show you my automated webinar funnel campaign that you can setup and have running with just a few hours of work. I've run this exact funnel with clients in different markets and we've seen great success. An automated webinar funnel like this produced well over $100k in sales to a small list in the "acting career advice" niche — a market, I might add, that is mostly made up of broke individuals. You could literally take this funnel and the templates we've provided and charge a client a small fortune to set it up. [But if your's for free when you join CopyHour!]( $100 value. Bonus #4: How To Launch Products To Tiny Email Lists This is exact formula that did over 5 figures to a little list of 1700 people. It's simple and we've deconstructed it into an easy-to-follow steps you can follow to write your launch sequence once and use it over and over again. Plus, we'll give you some strategies you can use to get people to WANT to partner with you so you can make money even if you don't currently have a list of your own. $100 value. Now, notice that the total value of the bonuses ($600) is worth more than the price of CopyHour alone. [Join CopyHour now]( What's Included In CopyHour? Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables.
