Thereâs a famous Beatles story thatâs super relevant to what Iâm talking about this week... The following is from a Rolling Stone interview with Paul McCartney⦠"Somebody said to me, âBut the Beatles were anti-materialistic.â Thatâs a huge myth. John and I literally used to sit down and say, âNow letâs write a swimming pool.â We said it out of innocence. Out of normal, fucking working-class glee that we were able to write a âswimming pool.â For the first time in our lives, we could actually do something and earn money." Why am I telling you this story? Other than the fact that itâs just a cool story⦠Because you can develop a similar ability to "write yourself a pool." And you donât have to be a member of (probably) the most famous band of all time. See, I now have the ability to write myself a swimming pool... The Beatles knew a new song would make them enough money to pay for a swimming pool. All they had to do was write something decent and theyâd have a big pay day. I donât write world famous songs that will be listened for generations. But I can create email promos that make anywhere from $10,000 to $120,000 or more. When I do email promos to my list, I can create a big cash windfallâ¦AND help the people on my list improve their lives in some way. I actually just had to resurface my entire pool, get new pumps, filters, and tile and it cost like $32,000 that I wasn't expecting to have to spend this month. But I can do a promo to my list to pay for that at any time...and help a bunch of people in the process by offering them something they truly want.
