Do Less ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ?

Do Less ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ This is unlikely to be something you've never heard before. But maybe it'll be a new take on an old take. Some smart person once said: There's only basics and advanced basics. Here's the basics of business growth. At any given time you can do any of these 3 things: 1. Get more customers. (Traffic and Conversions) 2. Get them to spend more. (Increase average order value. Or improve retention if you have a subscription business.) 3. Get them to buy more often. (Email follow up.) Pretty much anything you can do in your business will fall into those 3 categories. At any given time in your business you may be in a "season" where you want to focus on ONE key area for a month or two. Let me demonstrate this concept through an example from my own business. We work in 90 day sprints. We break our projects and goals down into 30, 60, and 90 day "rocks" over those 90 days. For the last 45 days or so I've been focused on #2. (From the list above. Not the other number 2, weirdo.) We've been focusing on making our [Email Game Changers AI tool]( as good as possible. We've been improving the writing quality and features. Now that's it's really good it's time to focus on #1. (We'll constantly be improving the product itself because we want it to be the best tool on the market by far.) Which means it's time to get more customers. I've only promoted it to my internal email list so far and we're at about 500 active paying users. Our goal is 5,000 by the end of the year. That means we need external traffic. So now it's time to focus on acquisition because I know people will keep their subscriptions cuz of how good the tool is. The first 45 days of this 90 day sprint we were in a "retention season." It was all about making the product itself better. That way people stick. (And cuz it's important to make epic products.) These next 45 days it's "growth season." That means 80% of my time will be focused on getting more customers. After these 45 days we'll go into a new season where we'll focus on getting users to buy more stuff. I'll probably call this "ascension season" because we want to ascend people to buy more stuff that will help them make more money. (Ascension through our products. Not ascension to heaven haha.) So why am I telling you all this? Because in the past I would try to do everything all at once. More traffic. More AOV. More repeat buyers. More everything. Now that I've grown wiser in my old age (I'll be 34 next month) I've learned to slow down and do one thing at a time. (And yes, I'm being a cheeky bastard about my age. I know that's young to most people. And ancient to some of the young bucks.) Most of my business coaching advice these days is this: Do Less Shit Better. I used to have 6 businesses and wore busyness like a badge of honor. Now you'll never hear me say I'm busy. I don't believe in it. (But that's a story to expand on another day.) The reality is you can do anything, but you can't do everything. So what's the ONE thing you should be focused on right now that could change your life or business? Whatever that is, go all in on it. That's all for today. I gotta go build some cool stuff to get more customers. Talk soon, Ian "do less shit better" Stanley P.S. If you just want to go all in on making a living online. You can make $5,000 to $10,000 a month or more writing simple emails for other companies. If that intrigues you, check out [90 Days to Freedom](. Flesch reading score measures how complex a text is. The lower the score, the more difficult the text is to read. The Flesch readability score uses the average length of your sentences (measured by the number of words) and the average number of syllables per word in an equation to calculate the reading ease. Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables. Usually, a reading ease score of 60-70 is considered acceptable/normal for web copy.
