He's a great writer ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ My buddy Derek Johanson wrote a story about me and I wanted to share it with you. Not because I'm a narcissist and it's about me...but because I think it teaches a really cool lesson. Here it is: START OF EMAIL If you've spent any time on my email list, you've likely heard the name Ian Stanley. Ian's a good friend of mine now, and also a frequent business partner... But I originally met him more than ten years ago because he was a young 20-something CopyHour student - and in one of my emails he discovered we lived about 20 minutes away from each other so he asked me to meet up for coffee. When I first met Ian he had recently moved out of his parents' house and secured a good job writing email copy for a financial company. He was already gushing to me about how he'd gotten the gig because of what he'd learned in CopyHour - and that he was brand new to "formally" learning copy. Things were improving dramatically in his life and he hit 6-figures shortly after that. Following along with his crazy progress always got me so psyched. But... the story doesn't end there. It's easier if I fast forward a bit. Today, Ian has sold more than $200mm in products online. He himself often takes home more than $100k in a month from both his own businesses as well as writing emails and sales letters for other businesses at huge rates (think $100k for 1 sales letter after bonuses). And those numbers are already obviously VERY impressive, but what's even more impressive is that the copy that brings home that money isn't even his "primary" gig anymore. You see, he originally stumbled on copywriting because he wanted freedom to work when and how he wanted - and to have the freedom to pursue his passions that may not necessarily make as much money, at least not right away. From the beginning, he always loved doing stand-up comedy. And a number of years ago, he decided he wanted to double down on it. And these days he tours the USA doing exactly that. (He recently filmed and released his first hour long stand-up special.) He isn't talking about building his dream life. He's actively doing it. And he's using copywriting as the tool to fund it. He'll be the first tell you that CopyHour was the foundation that got him there... and the foundation he still uses today. Now I don't know exactly what led you to hop on this mailing list and decide you wanted to learn more about getting good at copy. But I'm guessing that same kind of freedom that Ian wanted, is exactly what you want too. Maybe not to build a stand-up career. (Although that's pretty awesome if so.) But maybe it's because you want to be able to dictate your own hours. Or write your own paycheck. Or build businesses that excite you. Or get more money per hour worked. Or work less hours for even more money. Or spend more time at home with your family. Or just work alone, without the endless meetings and politics that come with a "normal" job. I could go on and on. The point is, if freedom in your work is something you're after... Copywriting is what will get it for you, no matter what path you take. Obviously there's freelance copywriting which can be a very lucrative career (and how some of my best CopyHour success stories got started, like Ian). But there's also a chance you're an entrepreneur, or soon-to-be an entrepreneur... and you *have* to be able to sell in order to be an entrepreneur of any kind. Even if you're not the one writing copy in your own business, you need to be able to *recognize* good copy so you hire the right people. There is nothing quite like writing a letter that goes on to generate six and seven figures. The first time you do it, you feel invincible - because you realize you have a super power. CopyHour is the simplest, fastest, and most effective way to "install" that super power in your brain. The process takes about 90 days. And the pay-off for that small investment of time sticks for a lifetime. The cart for CopyHour closes this Sunday 4/21 at 11:59PM PT and won't be re-opening until the fall, so if this is something you know you need, I recommend you join now. And there's no risk to you - if you find it isn't the right match for you, send my team one email within the first 30 days and we'll send you a refund. [ Train yourself to write six & seven figure sales copy in the next 90 days]( I hope to see you inside for this next cohort (which begins Monday 4/22)! - Derek END OF EMAIL Ian here again... I wanted to share that story because the freedom part really resonated with me. (I mean, that's kinda obvious, it was about me lol.) But I just wanted to share that copy skills may not be your end goal...but it may be the path to your end goal. My path started with CopyHour. Now I run a business I love and spend the rest of my time doing the things I love. I've traveled all over the world and the US and it all started with CopyHour. Anyways, this is last email I'll send about CopyHour UNLESS you've clicked a link this week and raised your hand as interested. That's all for now. Talk soon, Ian "You caught me, I do kinda like reading about myself" Stanley Sent to: {EMAIL} [Unsubscribe]( Almost Passive Income, 13359 N. Hwy 183, Ste. 550, Austin, TX 78750, United States
