Steve Carrell ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ Have you ever seen the movie Crazy, Stupid, Love? It's a romantic comedy from the bygone era of when movies that were supposed to be funny were actually funny. I just rewatched it and it still holds up. Steve Carrell plays a new balance wearing suburban dad who has no idea how to talk to women. Ryan Gosling plays a perfectly dressed suave player that knows exactly what to say to women. In one scene Steve Carrell is talking to a woman and says she's the perfect combination of sexy and cute. She thought that was the best line ever and decided to intercourse him because of it. So what does that have to do with email marketing? Well, when you're writing a welcome sequence for people who just opted in to your list or bought a product - you need the perfect combo. The perfect combo of selling, value, and relationship building. The ultimate menage a trois. You need to ensure that you follow through on your promises and deliver value. You need to demonstrate your personality or the personality of your company to build a long-term relationship that makes people want to stay on your email list forever. And you need to actually sell stuff because if you don't make money then you don't have a business. You have a charity. So how do you do all of this - at the same time - once people get onto your email list? You craft a 10 day autoresponder that follows a set of principles and strategies designed to do all of the above. Your autoresponder could be shorter or longer. But I find that 10 days is the sweet spot. It's not so long that it's too intimidating to write. And it's not so short that you don't control the experience. And I made your life even easier by creating 10 fill-in-the-blanks templates you can use to write your own sequence faster than ever. [ Click here to check them out]( Before I go, I just have to say, the scene where Ryan Gosling throws Steve Carrell's New Balance shoes off the balcony of the mall is unreal. And his reaction to Steve's velcro wallet is world class acting and comedy. That's all for today haha. Talk soon, Ian "the perfect combination of English and American" Stanley P.S. The other day I did a live "Welcome Email Sequences" Training. Over 90% of the people who joined the call in the beginning were still there after an hour so it must've been pretty good. I'm showed behind the scenes of some of my best Welcome Sequences and showed you how to create high converting sequences of your own. And in the first 10 minutes I talked about something I call the "acceptance window" that you can take advantage of right after people opt in to your list or buy something. It'll literally double how many opens you get on the first day. It's worth watching just for this part alone. I covered a lot more too. And released my Welcome Email Sequences course.
