Make sure to fix this if it's a problem ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ Over the last few days I noticed something weird. The emails I was sending out were showing up as from "API support" on my phone. I figured it was a glitch and would fix itself. (My business is called Almost Passive Income. Hence the API support.) It didn't. I was choosing Ian Stanley as the from name (cuz it's my name) like I have for years...and suddenly it wasn't using my from name. It was using the contact name from my email address. We send our emails from support@feedthewolf.com because that email address has the best deliverability. And it's our support inbox that's monitored daily during the week. Yet suddenly in Apple mail on my phone, my emails were showing up as from "API support." And on gmail on my computer it was showing Ian Stanley. It turns out Apple is now using the "contact name" instead of the from name you select in your Email Service Provider. That's super annoying. I checked my email stats and it was causing a real problem. I've had 25% lower open rates over the last couple of emails. And I've lost more subscribers than ever before. (Just a few hundred so nothing lethal.) Likely because they're confused by who the email is coming from. It's not been detrimental to my business or anything. But it likely would've become a massive thorn in my backside had I not figured it out. So I'm sending this email from a different email address that should *hopefully* show up as Ian Stanley. If you have your contact name different from your actual name you may be having issues too. And if you've gotten emails from me from over the last few days from odd from names, just know that's why. I just wanted to send this out cuz it's a super weird thing I've never seen before...and maybe you hadn't noticed it yet. Anyways, that's all for now. Part of my duty as an "email guy" is making sure I keep you aware of what's going on in the industry. Hopefully this didn't cause too much confusion. I'll copy and paste my email from yesterday below in case you missed it cuz of all the weirdness. Start of yesterday's email... The most important email you'll ever send to a list is the welcome email. It's your first impression. It's a make or break moment. It's the first dance at high school prom. It sets the tone for everything to come. The second most important thing you'll ever send your email list is the next 10 emails or so. Your welcome sequence. It's your chance to introduce people to your world or your business. It's your chance to make them love you or hate you. To sell them something and keep selling them stuff forever...or never sell them anything ever again. When it comes to welcome sequences, most people poop the bed. (That's the nicest way I could think of to say that.) They either mess up the whole thing or mess up a part of it. Or worse...they don't even have a welcome sequence. (GASP.) Don't be that person. Do it right. If you wanna get your welcome email sequences right, I'll show you how to do it. I'm doing a free live training on Monday, March 25th at 1pm pacific time. The training is free, but I will be launching my new Welcome Email Sequences Templates (and course) on the call. So I will be selling something at the end. If that offends you, feel free to not attend. Or just leave when I start talking about the course. However, I will be giving away $100 to someone who attends the call and asks a great question. And I'll be giving away prizes to people who buy live on the call, so attend if that tickles your fancy. I'll primarily be talking about principles and strategies. Then you can buy the templates if you want it all "pretty much" done for you. And you can sign up for the "Write Along" course if you're serious about making the best sequence ever. (I'll explain that more on the training.) So if that all sounds like your cup of tea (or whiskey in my case) then you should be there. Just register below. I can only have a certain number of people on my zoom calls which is why you have to register and put your email in below. [ Click here to register now]( And for those of you who will inevitably ask...YES...it will be recorded. And the replay WILL be sent out to you. Sorry for yelling but people always ask even when I write this. So maybe caps will help haha. Although, it will quite literally pay to be on the call live. So show if you can. Talk soon, Ian "I may be drinking a whiskey while writing this" Stanley Founder of [www.emailgamechangers.com]( P.S. I just realized I may have to go through all my autoresponders and change the from email...sigh. I hope Apple changes this or it's just temporary or something. P.P.S. If you read this far can you just reply and let me know what the "from name" for this email showed up as for you? Thanks in advance. Sent to: {EMAIL} [Unsubscribe]( Almost Passive Income, 13359 N. Flesch reading score measures how complex a text is. The lower the score, the more difficult the text is to read. The Flesch readability score uses the average length of your sentences (measured by the number of words) and the average number of syllables per word in an equation to calculate the reading ease. Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables. Usually, a reading ease score of 60-70 is considered acceptable/normal for web copy.
