1 in 5 kids are at risk of hunger recent statistics show | [Feeding America.]( [DONATE]( --------------------------------------------------------------- I'm heartbroken by the recent statistics released by the USDA: 1 in every 5 kids in our country are facing hunger. From listening to our neighbors, I know that when families have trouble putting food on the table, parents will often go without meals so that their children still get enough to eat. But today, with so many Americans facing hunger and the high cost of groceries and other essentials, kids in hundreds of thousands of homes in America still aren't getting enough food.* No one, child or adult, should have to go without food. [We need your help to reach our $100,000 goal to get meals to families who need them. We only have till midnight tomorrow.]( [Lamont playfully holding his daughter.]( Lamont and his daughter After Lamont had an accident at his cable company job, he was afraid that he'd be unable to provide food for his kids. "Sometimes my wife and I went without eating to make sure the kids had enough." After a while, Lamont began to volunteer at his local food pantry. He now works there as a director, managing a program that works to break the cycle of poverty. "I can provide for my family again, and not only that, I'm truly fulfilled. I know I'm making a big difference in people's lives." So many families, like Lamont's, need extra help making sure their kids get enough to eat. 1 in 5 children are at risk of hunger. As a Feeding America supporter, your generous donation of $25 or more can help provide meals for members of our community facing hunger.
