We need to make sure kids are fed—can you help? | [Feeding America.]( [DONATE]( --------------------------------------------------------------- [Feeding America Back to School Drive. Deadline August 31.]( This back to school season, I want to remind you of something: just one meal, for just one person, can make all the difference in the world. For a child in a classroom, getting enough food can mean having the energy to focus, learn, and thrive. [That's why your donation to our Back to School Drive doesn't just help provide food—it can actually help give a kid the ability to participate in class, complete their homework, and play with their friends.]( The start of the school year means the return of school breakfasts and lunches for seven-year-old Jaida in Atlanta. Her mom Janice gets extra groceries from a food pantry that the Atlanta Community Food Bank, a Feeding America partner, operates at Jaida's school. [Mother and child sit at an outside lunch table.]( Janice and Jaida, Atlanta, GA. Providing her family of four with healthy food is "everything," Janice says. Tacos are Jaida's favorite, and she makes sure to load them up with fresh vegetables and meat from the food pantry at school. Getting enough food during the school year can mean kids like Jaida can learn and thrive. But right now, hunger affects 1 in every 8 children in the United States. That's why we're running this Back to School Drive—to reach more of these kids and their families. We know that when families are fed, their futures are also nourished. [Together with the support of your community, your donation of $25 or more ensures that the Feeding America network of food banks can keep bringing food to people who face hunger and get meals to kids this school year.]( Thank you for all you do.
