Well, maybe for some, maybe not for others. Either way, football is back! The NFL season kicked off on Thursday with a Week 1 matchup between the Buffalo Bills and the defending champion Los Angeles Rams. These two teams are loaded with star power from the QB’s in Josh Allen and Matthew Stafford to the wide receivers with Stefon Diggs and Cooper Kupp. The game closed with the Rams as home underdogs but the odds suggested that this was going to be a close, high-scoring contest between two teams that could very well be running it back in February. How did it turn out? Well, it was anything but close. The Bills trounced the defending champions on their home field 31-10, scoring 21 unanswered points in the second half of the football game. Here are the top stories to watch coming out of Thursday’s contest. Josh Allen Looks Ready to Finally Win That Elusive MVP In 2020 Josh Allen finished 2nd in the league MVP voting, losing out to Aaron Rodgers. In 2021 he wasn’t even a top three vote getter despite the fact he threw for 4,407 yards and 36 touchdowns while adding 763 yards and six more scores running the football. The Bills entered the 2022 season as the current odds favorite to win the Super Bowl and Allen put his stamp on those expectations here in Week 1 as he completed 26-of-31 passes for 297 yards and three touchdowns with two interceptions while adding 10 carries for 56 yards and another score. Targeting both Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis, Allen shredded what was thought to be a very good Rams defense, especially in the secondary where they have one of the league's premier corners in Jalen Ramsey but none of it mattered and the rest of the league has been put on notice that Allen is ready to finally bring Buffalo back to the Super Bowl. ~/AAAHagA~/RgRk_b3yP0RiaHR0cDovL3dsZmFuZHVlbC5hZHNydi5lYWNkbi5jb20vQy5hc2h4P2J0YWc9YV8yMzQ2NGJfMjQzNmNfJmFmZmlkPTExODc3JnNpdGVpZD0yMzQ2NCZhZGlkPTI0MzYmYz1XBXNwY2V1QgpjGPI4G2PAV-LNUht0cmlzdHJhbWJhbGR3aW45MkBnbWFpbC5jb21YBAAAAUQ~ Bet $5 on Any Sport, Get $150 Instantly [Claim offer >](~/AAAHagA~/RgRk_b3yP0RiaHR0cDovL3dsZmFuZHVlbC5hZHNydi5lYWNkbi5jb20vQy5hc2h4P2J0YWc9YV8yMzQ2NGJfMjQzNmNfJmFmZmlkPTExODc3JnNpdGVpZD0yMzQ2NCZhZGlkPTI0MzYmYz1XBXNwY2V1QgpjGPI4G2PAV-LNUht0cmlzdHJhbWJhbGR3aW45MkBnbWFpbC5jb21YBAAAAUQ~) ~/AAAHagA~/RgRk_b3yP0RkaHR0cHM6Ly93bHdpbGxpYW1oaWxsdXMuYWRzcnYuZWFjZG4uY29tL0MuYXNoeD9idGFnPWFfNjMyMmJfMjM3M2NfJmFmZmlkPTg3JnNpdGVpZD02MzIyJmFkaWQ9MjM3MyZjPVcFc3BjZXVCCmMY8jgbY8BX4s1SG3RyaXN0cmFtYmFsZHdpbjkyQGdtYWlsLmNvbVgEAAABRA~~ Up To $1,250 Back on Your First Bet with code: FULLFA [Claim offer >](~/AAAHagA~/RgRk_b3yP0RkaHR0cHM6Ly93bHdpbGxpYW1oaWxsdXMuYWRzcnYuZWFjZG4uY29tL0MuYXNoeD9idGFnPWFfNjMyMmJfMjM3M2NfJmFmZmlkPTg3JnNpdGVpZD02MzIyJmFkaWQ9MjM3MyZjPVcFc3BjZXVCCmMY8jgbY8BX4s1SG3RyaXN0cmFtYmFsZHdpbjkyQGdtYWlsLmNvbVgEAAABRA~~) Missing in Action On the Rams side of things there were certainly many storylines to choose from but the two most notable come from the complete lack of production from both Allen Robinson and Cam Akers. The Rams were lauded for their offseason addition of Allen Robinson with many claiming “the rich got richer”. Robinson was coming off a horrid 2021 season where he finished with just 38 receptions for 410 yards and a touchdown over 12 games. With his move to Los Angeles, Robinson was now playing with whom many claim to be the best quarterback he’s been on the field with in Matthew Stafford and that sharing a field with Cooper Kupp could actually open things up for Robinson down the field. None of that was on display however in Week 1 as Robinson caught just one pass for 12 yards and was targeted only twice with the second target coming on the Rams last play of the game. Those who spent an early round draft pick on Robinson have to be wondering what exactly they just saw. The other Rams player that was nowhere to be found was that of Cam Akers. Coming off a torn achilles, Akers shocked everyone when he returned for the Rams playoff run. During last season’s playoffs however Akers did not look very good and historically this has been a very tough injury for NFL players to successfully come back from. That said, Akers had an entire offseason to get ready to go but during training camp he suffered a soft tissue injury that kept him limited throughout camp. With Akers active for Week 1, many expected he would have a role in this Rams offense but those managers had to be shocked to see Darrell Henderson actually get the start and the majority of the workload as Akers finished with just three carries for zero yards. After the game head coach Sean McVey was quoted as saying the flow of the game limited how involved they wanted Akers to be in tonight’s game plan and that he had wished they found ways to get Allen Robinson involved more ... .I'm sure the fantasy football managers at home are saying the same thing. Gabe Davis is the Real Deal Is it too early to victory lap? Maybe so, but for those who were all in on Gabe Davis this offseason a breakout candidate this game could not have gone better. The Bills third-year receiver finished with four catches on five targets for 88 yards and a touchdown. He and Josh Allen connected on a big downfield touchdown for the first score of the game and later nearly had a second on a 47 yard pass and catch. Allen is a QB that will throw downfield and Davis offers both the size and speed to be an elite target for Allen when he chooses not to look Stefon Digg’s way. Diggs by the way had himself an elite night, finishing with eight catches on nine targets for 122 yards and a 53 yard touchdown catch. Not All Was Bad For Los Angeles While Allen Robinson, Cam Akers and Jalen Ramsey were certainly disasters for the Rams it is also worth noting that Cooper Kupp picked up right where he left off his 2021 season. The Rams top receiver finished with 13 catches on 15 targets for 128 yards and one touchdown. Those who may have passed on Kupp in the early rounds of their fantasy football drafts have to really be second guessing themselves after Thursday’s performance.   ~/AAAHagA~/RgRk_b3yP0SkaHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuZmFudGFzeWFsYXJtLmNvbS9jaGVja291dC9tb250aGx5P3Byb21vY29kZT1uZmw1MCZ1dG1fc291cmNlPWVtYWlsJnV0bV9tZWRpdW09YnJhemUmdXRtX2NhbXBhaWduPW5ld19wcmljaW5nX2VtYWlsX21vcm5pbmdhbGFybV9icmF6ZSZ1dG1faWQ9bmV3X3ByaWNpbmdXBXNwY2V1QgpjGPI4G2PAV-LNUht0cmlzdHJhbWJhbGR3aW45MkBnbWFpbC5jb21YBAAAAUQ~   Latest Features ~/AAAHagA~/RgRk_b3yP0RyaHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuZmFudGFzeWFsYXJtLmNvbS9hcnRpY2xlcy9uZmwvd2F0Y2gtbGlzdC9uZmwtZGZzLXdlZWstMS13YXRjaC1saXN0LXRvcC1kcmFmdGtpbmdzLWZhbmR1ZWwtcGlja3MvMTMzMTIxVwVzcGNldUIKYxjyOBtjwFfizVIbdHJpc3RyYW1iYWxkd2luOTJAZ21haWwuY29tWAQAAAFE NFL DFS Week 1 Watch List: Top DraftKings & FanDuel Picks [Read more >](~/AAAHagA~/RgRk_b3yP0RyaHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuZmFudGFzeWFsYXJtLmNvbS9hcnRpY2xlcy9uZmwvd2F0Y2gtbGlzdC9uZmwtZGZzLXdlZWstMS13YXRjaC1saXN0LXRvcC1kcmFmdGtpbmdzLWZhbmR1ZWwtcGlja3MvMTMzMTIxVwVzcGNldUIKYxjyOBtjwFfizVIbdHJpc3RyYW1iYWxkd2luOTJAZ21haWwuY29tWAQAAAFE) ~/AAAHagA~/RgRk_b3yP0SbaHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuZmFudGFzeWFsYXJtLmNvbS9hcnRpY2xlcy9jZmIvcGxheWJvb2svY29sbGVnZS1mb290YmFsbC1kZnMtcGxheWJvb2stY29yZS1wbGF5cy13ZWVrLTItZnJpZGF5LXNsYXRlLXRvcC1kcmFmdGtpbmdzLWZhbmR1ZWwtY2ZiLWRmcy1waWNrcy8xMzMxNDJXBXNwY2V1QgpjGPI4G2PAV-LNUht0cmlzdHJhbWJhbGR3aW45MkBnbWFpbC5jb21YBAAAAUQ~ College Football DFS Playbook & Core Plays: Week 2 Friday Slate [Read more >](~/AAAHagA~/RgRk_b3yP0SbaHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuZmFudGFzeWFsYXJtLmNvbS9hcnRpY2xlcy9jZmIvcGxheWJvb2svY29sbGVnZS1mb290YmFsbC1kZnMtcGxheWJvb2stY29yZS1wbGF5cy13ZWVrLTItZnJpZGF5LXNsYXRlLXRvcC1kcmFmdGtpbmdzLWZhbmR1ZWwtY2ZiLWRmcy1waWNrcy8xMzMxNDJXBXNwY2V1QgpjGPI4G2PAV-LNUht0cmlzdHJhbWJhbGR3aW45MkBnbWFpbC5jb21YBAAAAUQ~) ~/AAAHagA~/RgRk_b3yP0RwaHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuZmFudGFzeWFsYXJtLmNvbS9hcnRpY2xlcy9uZmwvdGlnaHQtZW5kcy9uZmwtZGZzLXRlLWNvYWNoLXdlZWstMS10b3AtZHJhZnRraW5ncy1mYW5kdWVsLXBpY2tzLzEzMzE5N1cFc3BjZXVCCmMY8jgbY8BX4s1SG3RyaXN0cmFtYmFsZHdpbjkyQGdtYWlsLmNvbVgEAAABRA~~ NFL DFS TE Coach Week 1: Top DraftKings & FanDuel Picks [Read more >](~/AAAHagA~/RgRk_b3yP0RwaHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuZmFudGFzeWFsYXJtLmNvbS9hcnRpY2xlcy9uZmwvdGlnaHQtZW5kcy9uZmwtZGZzLXRlLWNvYWNoLXdlZWstMS10b3AtZHJhZnRraW5ncy1mYW5kdWVsLXBpY2tzLzEzMzE5N1cFc3BjZXVCCmMY8jgbY8BX4s1SG3RyaXN0cmFtYmFsZHdpbjkyQGdtYWlsLmNvbVgEAAABRA~~) ~/AAAHagA~/RgRk_b3yP0R8aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuZmFudGFzeWFsYXJtLmNvbS9hcnRpY2xlcy9uZmwvZGVmZW5zZS1zcGVjaWFsLXRlYW1zL25mbC1kZnMtZHN0LWNvYWNoLXdlZWstMS10b3AtZHJhZnRraW5ncy1mYW5kdWVsLXBpY2tzLzEzMzE0N1cFc3BjZXVCCmMY8jgbY8BX4s1SG3RyaXN0cmFtYmFsZHdpbjkyQGdtYWlsLmNvbVgEAAABRA~~ NFL DFS D/ST Coach Week 1: Top DraftKings & FanDuel Picks [Read more >](~/AAAHagA~/RgRk_b3yP0R8aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuZmFudGFzeWFsYXJtLmNvbS9hcnRpY2xlcy9uZmwvZGVmZW5zZS1zcGVjaWFsLXRlYW1zL25mbC1kZnMtZHN0LWNvYWNoLXdlZWstMS10b3AtZHJhZnRraW5ncy1mYW5kdWVsLXBpY2tzLzEzMzE0N1cFc3BjZXVCCmMY8jgbY8BX4s1SG3RyaXN0cmFtYmFsZHdpbjkyQGdtYWlsLmNvbVgEAAABRA~~)   Follow us on Twitter Questions?
