That was a pretty good Oscars ceremony last night, wasn’t it? Ryan Gosling brought the Kenergy, Jimmy Kimmel was a solid host, and I don’t think we have too many gripes with the winners. We have such a low bar for awards shows now that “not bad” is the new good. Congratulations, Hollywood! If you don’t know what I’m talking about, you can take a [look at all the winners here](. Here’s what to watch this week. -Tim   Your Watch This Now! newsletter is created by Senior Recommendations and Reviews Editor Tim Surette and more show-obsessed editors at TV Guide!   SERIES PREMIERES TUESDAY ON FREEVEE [Boat Story is seriously dramatic and seriously funny]( [This British crime show features desperate people doing drug deals, extreme violence against any and all, and literal backstabbing among England's worst, but what sets Boat Story apart from other shows of its kind is that it's cheekier than a chipmunk. Written and directed by Harry and Jack Williams, the busy sibling duo behind The Missing and The Tourist, Boat Story is narrated like a fable and goes to extra lengths for gags as it tells the story of two strangers — played by Timeless' Paterson Joseph and Breeders' Daisy Haggard — who happen upon a massive stash of cocaine and decide to sell it for money. The problem is that the nose candy belonged to someone else, and they're none too happy that they lost it. What ensues is a Snatch-like crime caper that smashes genres together into a fun-filled dark comedy.]( SEASON 3 PREMIERES THURSDAY ON NETFLIX [Girls5eva has its share of funny numbers]( [With the first two seasons of this Tina Fey-produced comedy airing on Peacock, you’re forgiven if you’ve never heard a note of this gem. But Netflix saved it and will air both Peacock seasons as well as an all-new six-episode third season — which I hear is the best of the bunch. Following a ‘90s girl group who get back together for a second shot at fame, Girls5eva is going for the title of most jokes per minute, and it has no problem pulling that off thanks to a cast that includes Sara Bareilles, Renée Elise Goldsberry, Paula Pell, Busy Philipps, and a ton of great guest stars. Stupendously silly and featuring great original songs, it’s one of TV’s best currently airing comedies.]( SERIES PREMIERE FRIDAY ON APPLE TV+ [Manhunt tracks down one of history’s most famous killers]( Playing Abraham Lincoln — and nailing his surprisingly reedy voice — is a rite of passage for actors of a certain stature. In Manhunt, it's Hamish Linklater's turn to put on Lincoln's top hat, though the Apple TV+ limited series is less focused on Lincoln's life than it is on his death. The historical drama digs into the aftermath of Lincoln's assassination, following his secretary of war, Edwin Stanton (Outlander’s Tobias Menzies), as he leads the hunt for John Wilkes Booth (Masters of the Air’s Anthony Boyle). [In his review for TV Guide]( Keith Phipps said the series “offers a deep dive into one of the past's true inflection points, considering not just the facts of the assassination but the ways in which it redirected history.” -Kelly Connolly TV IN BLOOM [Our big guide to spring TV is here!]( Most of the country is no longer freezing their butts off anymore, which means spring is here! But a better temperature taker for spring is actually the TV calendar, as great shows push their way out of the ground to be ready for the Emmy voting period. [TV Guide’s spring preview]( (start here) has lists for our [most anticipated shows of the season]( and the [biggest movies coming to streaming]( as well as schedules, previews, reviews, and more for new and returning shows. Or you could just flip around the channels for hours on end blindly looking for something. It’s a free country! Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables.
