Happy Presidents Day, but only SOME presidents, amirite? Ha ha ha hoo boy, are you ready for another

Happy Presidents Day, but only SOME presidents, amirite? Ha ha ha hoo boy, are you ready for another election? Is anyone? Enjoy your day off if you have it, and if you don’t, just shout “I believe in democracy!” and walk out. Here’s what to watch this week. -Tim   Your Watch This Now! newsletter is created by Senior Recommendations and Reviews Editor Tim Surette and more show-obsessed editors at TV Guide!   SEASON 7 PREMIERES TUESDAY AT 10/9C ON ABC [Can The Good Doctor also be a good father?]( Seven seasons of a broadcast drama that doesn’t involve special agents shooting bad guys is an impressive feat, so as ABC’s The Good Doctor prepares for its final season, it can do so with pride. Toward the end of Season 6, Dr. Shaun Murphy (Freddie Highmore), a surgeon on the autism spectrum who helped change the way a hospital sees medical care, became a father, making Season 7 a fitting endpoint as his world changes around him. Will he be a good father? You betcha. Will there be some bumps along the way? Duh. Here’s [everything we know about Season 7](. Also premiering Tuesday are [Season 6 of The Rookie]( and Season 2 of Will Trent. SEASON 1 PREMIERES WEDNESDAY ON APPLE TV+ [Constellation returns from space… different]( In space, no one can hear you be confused about quantum physics! That’s a good thing, as Apple’s new psychological sci-fi drama takes the podium several times to ruminate on brainy theoretical physics as the basis of its premise: An astronaut (Noomi Rapace) returns from a disastrous ISS mission to a world that she isn’t quite familiar with. I’ll be upfront: I didn’t care for this series, which didn’t give me the payoff that it teased and spent far too many episodes repeating its “whoa man!” idea, but [early reviews have been positive]( so maybe it’s just not for me. Also, how much could I have not liked it if I watched all eight episodes in only a few days? Just know that when you watch it, it’s not really about space, [despite being based on real astronauts’ horror stories]( it’s more about what it means to be a family, which is actually when the show is at its best. Also: Breaking Bad’s Jonathan Banks stars as a grumpy rocket scientist. SERIES PREMIERE THURSDAY ON NETFLIX [Please be good, Avatar: The Last Airbender]( [After watching the live-action adaptation of One Piece, we have more faith in Netflix when it comes to remaking beloved animated series. And few shows are more beloved than Avatar: The Last Airbender , which the streaming platform is launching a live-action adaptation of on Thursday. When showrunner Albert Kim was first approached about the project, he too asked, Why? "What is there I could do or say with the story that wasn't done or said in the original?" Kim said in a press release. But among his reasons for taking on the show is the opportunity to "showcase Asian and Indigenous characters as living, breathing people." The live-action series is led by Gordon Cormier as Aang, alongside Kiawentiio as Katara, Ian Ousley as Sokka, and Dallas Liu as Zuko. -Kat Moon]( YOU’RE IN TRUE DETECTIVE COUNTRY [More shows like True Detective]( With the end of True Detective’s franchise-revitalizing fourth season on Sunday, you probably have a hankering for more complicated detectives solving complicated cases. We’ve put together [a list of shows like True Detective]( from gritty series like HBO’s Mare of Easttown to classics with dashes of the supernatural like Twin Peaks .
