Toward the end of Season 6, Dr. Shaun Murphy (Freddie Highmore), a surgeon on the autism spectrum who helped change the way a hospital sees medical care, became a father, making Season 7 a fitting endpoint as his world changes around him. SEASON 1 PREMIERES WEDNESDAY ON APPLE TV+ [Constellation returns from space… different]( In space, no one can hear you be confused about quantum physics! That’s a good thing, as Apple’s new psychological sci-fi drama takes the podium several times to ruminate on brainy theoretical physics as the basis of its premise: An astronaut (Noomi Rapace) returns from a disastrous ISS mission to a world that she isn’t quite familiar with. I’ll be upfront: I didn’t care for this series, which didn’t give me the payoff that it teased and spent far too many episodes repeating its “whoa man!” idea, but [early reviews have been positive]( so maybe it’s just not for me. Also, how much could I have not liked it if I watched all eight episodes in only a few days? Just know that when you watch it, it’s not really about space, [despite being based on real astronauts’ horror stories]( it’s more about what it means to be a family, which is actually when the show is at its best. Also: Breaking Bad’s Jonathan Banks stars as a grumpy rocket scientist. SERIES PREMIERE THURSDAY ON NETFLIX [Please be good, Avatar: The Last Airbender]( [After watching the live-action adaptation of One Piece, we have more faith in Netflix when it comes to remaking beloved animated series. And few shows are more beloved than Avatar: The Last Airbender , which the streaming platform is launching a live-action adaptation of on Thursday. When showrunner Albert Kim was first approached about the project, he too asked, Why? "What is there I could do or say with the story that wasn't done or said in the original?" Kim said in a press release. But among his reasons for taking on the show is the opportunity to "showcase Asian and Indigenous characters as living, breathing people."
