The 2024 Super Bowl is set! Congratulations to the Kansas City Chiefs, who havenât won a Super Bowl since 2023! The painful wait has been exacerbated by minimal pop culture coverage, only 3,000 commercials currently airing featuring its star players, and hardly any mention by the sports media. YES IâM BEING SARCASTIC. (I am a disgruntled fan of another AFC West team.) I will root for the San Francisco 49ers, I guess, another franchise that is no stranger to the Lombardi Trophy. Detroit, you had your chance. Maybe [donât wave âbyeâ to the fans]( before the game is over next time? Man, I hate football. So why canât I stop watching it? Hereâs what to watch this week. - Tim Your Watch This Now! newsletter is created by Senior Recommendations and Reviews Editor Tim Surette and more show-obsessed editors at TV Guide! SERIES PREMIERES WEDNESDAY AT 10/9C ON FX & FXX, THURSDAY ON HULU [Feud: Capote vs. The Swans is right in Ryan Murphyâs wheelhouse]( Murphy is known for his ability to attract talent, but this is just ridiculous. The second season of his Feud anthology â Season 1's Joan Crawford and Bette Davis showdown aired all the way back in 2017 â stars Tom Hollander as author Truman Capote and â deep breath â Naomi Watts, Diane Lane, Chloë Sevigny, Calista Flockhart, Demi Moore, and Molly Ringwald as the Swans, a collection of high-society women Capote once palled around with. After becoming their confidant, Capote would go on to write a thinly veiled novel about characters whose lives and secrets were lifted from the Swans, and you know what happened next: FEUD! Once their trust in him was destroyed, the Swans cast Capote out from his precious high society, and as the legend goes, he was never the same. Two episodes air this week, with new episodes coming weekly.](
SEASON 1 PREMIERES FRIDAY ON PRIME VIDEO [Mr. & Mrs. Smith spies a violent story of trust and marriage]( [In the 2005 film Mr. & Mrs. Smith, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt play a husband and wife who find out their spouse is actually an assassin for a covert agency, and theyâre both assigned to kill each other. In the 2024 TV series Mr. & Mrs. Smith, Donald Glover and Maya Erskine play assassins who find out that theyâre husband and wife after being assigned to each other by a covert agency, and quickly start to fall for each other. So theyâre kind of similar, yet not at all alike. The show feels more like a prequel to The Americans, infused with co-creator Gloverâs laid-back vibe, spurts of brutal violence, and a love story that requires some âoh, just go with itâ energy from the viewer. Excellent guest stars â including Parker Posey and Wagner Moura in an epic fourth episode â add to the incredible watchability. All eight episodes are out on Friday.]( SEASON 12 PREMIERES SUNDAY AT 10/9C ON HBO AND MAX [Curb Your Enthusiasm cringes for the last time]( Can you believe Larry Davidâs cringe comedy began 23 years ago? A kid born the same day that Larry first said, âPretty, pretty, pretty goodâ is now years past buying their first legal drink. Wow. After decades of influencing countless comedies and flirting with ending the show, Larry is calling it quits after this season. In addition to the normal familiar faces, Ted Danson, Vince Vaughn, and Tracey Ullman are listed as guest stars, but you can bet your butt that some big names will stop by for one last chance to bicker with Larry. Hopefully they donât all [end up on trial in Massachusetts.]( WHATâS OLD IS NEW ON NETFLIX [Hereâs everything coming to Netflix in February]( Have you the trailer]( for the live-action take on Avatar: The Last Airbender? I never watched the original series, but I still think this looks awesome. Also on the way are the British romance One Day and the surreal comedy The Vince Staples Show. Netflix will also continue its strategy of recycling shows from other streamers (blame Suits!) by bringing in the first four seasons of Brooklyn Nine-Nine, the entire series of Monk, and Maxâs recently departed martial arts drama Warrior. This is Warriorâs chance to finally find the audience it deserves.
