Hereâs some insider information on writing a newsletter. Every 12-18 months or so, Netflix makes writing this newsletter a nightmare, because thatâs when a new season of Sex Education comes out. The behind-the-scenes difficulty of making sure Watch This Now arrives in your inbox and not your spam folder is massive, because spam filters target certain words and flag them as naughty boner pill emails (or other unseemly content) and ostracize them to the netherworld of your email client. Thatâs why I canât curse like a construction worker here (though Iâd $%&@#ing love to). The problem with Sex Education isnât what itâs about or whoâs in it; itâs just the title. âSex.â Repeat that word in a newsletter enough times and filters lose their minds. So if you donât get this newsletter, Iâm sorry! (Check your spam.) Hereâs what to watch this week. -Tim Your Watch This Now! newsletter is created by Senior Recommendations and Reviews Editor Tim Surette and more show-obsessed editors at TV Guide! MINISERIES PREMIERES WEDNESDAY ON APPLE TV+ [The Super Models looks back on the Mount Rushmore of â80s models]( [Before the âgram gave us an endless supply of women struttinâ their stuff for fame and money, the 1980s delivered the idea of the supermodel, a new celebrity archetype that crossed over from fashion to advertising to Hollywood. This four-episode documentary follows the Avengers of supermodels â Cindy Crawford, Linda Evangelista, Naomi Campbell, and Christy Turlington â through their youth, coming up in the industry, making the music video for âFreedom! â90,â becoming a fixture of female empowerment, and their days now as activists and entrepreneurs. All four of them are delightfully candid about their lives and careers, and the constant slideshows of never-before-seen photos and videos are absolutely fascinating. (Cindyâs early modeling photos â hair teased to kingdom come â have to be seen.) Itâs a complete and energetic doc for anyone who grew up in the â80s or has an eye for fashion.](
SEASON 4 PREMIERES THURSDAY ON NETFLIX [Sex Education wraps up a four-season course]( [Soon, Sex Education will have nothing left to teach you. For its fourth and final season, the colorfully raunchy British series is literally shutting down the school: Moordale Secondary has been closed, and its former students now find themselves at a school so progressive, Otis (Asa Butterfield) isn't even the only therapist on campus. Meanwhile, Maeve (Emma Mackey) is living her academic dream in America. The cast is getting a shakeup, too; Dan Levy and Jodie Turner-Smith join the show, while some longtime cast members, including Patricia Allison and Bridgerton's Simone Ashley, aren't returning. But Gillian Anderson is back as Otis' uninhibited mother, and so is future Doctor Who star Ncuti Gatwa as Eric Effiong, the show's best and most singular creation. As long as we have Eric, we're never skipping class. -Kelly Connolly]( FRIDAY ON PRIME VIDEO [Cassandro delivers flamboyance from the top rope]( This film has already received high praise from critics since its premiere at Sundance earlier this year, but donât worry if you didnât rush out to theaters to watch it when it came out on Sept. 15, since it comes to Prime Video this week. Gael GarcÃa Bernal stars in this feel-good biopic as Saúl Armendáriz, known to fans of Mexican wrestling as Cassandro, the flamboyant "Liberace of Lucha Libre." It charts the openly gay wrestler's rise to fame as he embraces his true identity in the macho sport. [In his review of the movie]( Matt Jacobs says Cassandro is âabout putting on a show and refusing to play the part you've been assigned.â IS IT COMING BACK?
