The Fourth of July is over, which signals the REAL beginning of summer television. You’ll start

The Fourth of July is over, which signals the REAL beginning of summer television. (No offense, TLC’s MILF Manor, which is somehow still going strong.) You’ll start to see many more options on your cable guides and streaming homepages, a lot which won’t be very good, to be honest, especially with the Olympics coming up and scaring off many networks. But not this week. We have some cool stuff to check out below. -Tim   Your Watch This Now! newsletter is created by Senior Recommendations and Reviews Editor Tim Surette and more show-obsessed editors at TV Guide!   SEASON 21 PREMIERES MONDAY AT 8/7C ON ABC [The Bachelorette makes history]( [The best reality competitions are those where the prize is another reality contestant, which is why the Bachelor and Bachelorette franchises have lasted for so long. Jenn Tran, who finished tied for fifth in the latest season of The Bachelor, goes on her quest to find the perfect husband from a flock of men hand-picked by television producers, just as nature intended. Tran is making history for the franchise, as she is the first Asian American Bachelorette in the show's run. Her season kicks off on ABC on Monday night, with new episodes premiering on Hulu the day after they air.]( SERIES PREMIERES WEDNESDAY ON APPLE TV+ [Sunny is a dark comedy that asks tough questions about AI]( It appears that someone took the plot of Black Mirror's stunning Season 2 episode "Be Right Back" (or maybe Season 5's Miley Cyrus-starring "Rachel, Jack and Ashley Too") and made a whole series out of it, adding some conspiratorial mystery to the question of whether technology can replace lost loved ones. Rashida Jones stars as Suzie Sakamoto, an American expat living in Japan, who is gifted a state-of-the-art robot after her roboticist husband and young son die in a plane crash, but she freaks out when her bot starts acting strange. (The occasional flashes of an out-of-control robot murdering humans probably don't help, either.) The A24-produced sci-fi dark comedy — which stylistically pulls from the monolithic corporate vibes of Severance, Apple's best sci-fi show — sends Suzie searching for answers about what her husband was really working on and how far these robot glitches reach. As Keith Phipps [says in his review]( “Whether or not Sunny has enough story to stretch over multiple seasons remains to be seen, but this first one serves as a promising beginning, and its unsure take on AI — depicted in turn as murderous, companionable, life-affirming, unreliable, and goofy — feels made for the times.” PREMIERES WEDNESDAY AT 9/8C ON HBO, MAX [Quad Gods soars past our limitations]( [This very cool documentary film follows three Black men in New York City who form the first ever esports team made entirely of quadriplegics after meeting in a neuro-rehabilitation program. As they train in competitive gaming on adaptive hardware, they’re also providing for their families, confronting issues of ableism, and rehabilitating their bodies in the hopes of gaining more motor function, all with a sense of humor thanks to a strong community. It’s a heartwarming film about going past your limits.]( COOL SHOWS FOR A COOLER SEASON [Here are the new network shows coming this fall]( Triple digit temperatures are boiling most of the country, which has us already looking forward to the fall. But not just for the ability to go outside again without busting into a ball of flame; we’re also excited for the new fall TV season. [We’ve rounded up all the new shows]( coming to NBC, ABC, CBS, Fox, and The CW in one spot for you to get excited, too.
