Happy birthday to Jerry Seinfeld, who turned 70 today and is celebrating by [making headlines criticizing the far left for killing comedy](. Did you know that before Seinfeld, [Jerry was briefly a cast member on Benson]( He was a joke-telling delivery boy who thought he was funnier than he actually is. I’ll just leave that there. Here’s what to watch this weekend. -Tim   Your Watch This Now! newsletter is created by Senior Recommendations and Reviews Editor Tim Surette and more show-obsessed editors at TV Guide!   SERIES PREMIERES TUESDAY ON HULU [The Veil has all the hallmarks of a good spy series, so why isn’t it?]( Though [reviews of FX’s newest Hulu series aren’t that great]( it’s still hard not to be intrigued by this thriller starring Elisabeth Moss as a globetrotting spy who must escort a female ISIS agent from Turkey to Paris in a game of cat-and-mouse and truth-or-dare, as both women might be hiding their real intentions from each other while simultaneously growing closer. TV Guide’s Liam Mathews [reviewed the series]( and liked the style and the performances, which include Josh Charles as a CIA agent, but felt the show lacked the substance and purpose of other espionage dramas like Homeland. The pedigree of the series begs for your attention, but proceed with caution. The first two episodes stream this week; new episodes drop weekly. PREMIERES THURSDAY ON HULU AND PRIME VIDEO AND FRIDAY ON NETFLIX [The Contestant, The Idea of You, and Unfrosted are your new streaming movies this week]( [Three very different movies hit streaming this week, and at least two of them are worth checking out. The interesting documentary The Contestant (Thursday, Hulu) tells the weird-but-true story of a man who unknowingly became a Japanese celebrity by appearing on a Truman Show-like game show in which he was put in a room and tasked with getting everything he needed to survive by winning mail-in sweepstakes. For rom-com fans, The Idea of You (Thursday, Prime Video) stars Anne Hathaway as a 40-year-old single mom who begins dating the much-younger lead singer of a famous pop group. And on Friday, Jerry Seinfeld asks, “What is the deal with Pop-Tarts?” in Unfrosted, his comedic take on the creation of the breakfast pastry.]( SEASONS PREMIERE WEDNESDAY ON APPLE TV+ AND THURSDAY ON MAX [Acapulco and Hacks are the sweet and sour of comedies]( [A pair of good comedies return for their third seasons, and they approach the idea of human relationships from very different angles. Apple TV+’s charming Acapulco (Wednesday) is overwhelmingly earnest and upbeat in its depiction of a young man working his dream job at a resort in Mexico while also pining for his coworker, while Max’s Hacks (Thursday) leans on the bitter and begrudgingly respectful relationship between an aging comedian and the young writer hired to help her with new material. Recognize your mood and choose wisely.]( FULL STREAM AHEAD [What’s New on Prime Video, Max, and Netflix]( Mayday! Mayday! It’s almost the first day of May! Which means you better know what to watch. Prime Video, Max, and Netflix all waited until almost the last minute to announce their wares for May, and they include new seasons of Bridgerton, Outer Range, and Pretty Little Liars, as well as a new movie starring Jennifer Lopez.
